DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Wiring for gs 650e dyna s

I've have a knock off installed on my GS1000 engine after cooking a Dyna unit and a coil. DO NOT leave your key on while testing - or unplug the ignition - or you'll cook yours like I did mine. 3 wires - red white black - what I did was run a seperate relay for power to the coils and ignition...

cleaning up the wiring on my project bike

Neutral and oil pressure - the switch grounds the light causing it to illuminate. Power is sent to the bulb, through the bulb and grounded at the switch. Don't forget your hi-beam indicator light - pic below showing my built instrument panel - it works oposite of the other 2 - it get's power...

    Question about turn signal wiring

Unless North Carolina requires front marker lights on your motorcycle, you don't need the grey (GR) wire. Very few replacement units have a 3 wire set up although they can be found. Be very leary of LED lights out of China as most of them don't like 14 volts and will blink funny. I have a...

    Airbox replacement

There is a difference between the air boxes on CV of VM carbs. I'll assume you have CV carbs and you should be able to use any airbox from a "G" series or post '79 motorcycle - post 8 valve engine. On the engine side of the air box, Suzuki use to list the engines the air box would fit

1979 GS550; Are these CV or VM carbs?

You don't need to rejet with pods... You need air correctors as shown in my pic. These control the air flowing into the emulsion tube. In my case, without them I would foul plugs in a couple of miles unless you rode wide open. I have these installed on my Stock GS1000 - electronic ignition...

    GS550 Valve Clearances

I measure with the lobe in the up position and I look for something above .06mm. My feelings are that anything under .06mm is too tight. I look for between .08 and .10. I do live in Florida USA and I factor this into my adjustments as it can get hot here. Although Nessim is absolutely correct...

As of 01.28.2024: I've removed the 1000cc engine to put in the other GS750 I have that took out it's engine. In this picture I've installed a 95 Katana 750 engine and complete wiring. It runs but has not been ridden yet.

    Main jets or something else?

A vacuum leak ONLY happens on the engine side of the slide, not the air filter side. A torn pod will NOT cause a vacuum leak. It will however, allow dirty air in the engine. If you have BS34 CV carbs: Did you bench sync them? Did you put the black plug back over the idle jet? NEEDS to be there...

    Frame up builders

I have x2 frame up builds. 1 - 77 GS750 that had a bored 750 engine that's no longer in one piece. I swapped in a 78 GS1000 engine. The rest is basically stock. 2 - I have a 77 GS750 frame. 95 Katana GSX750 engine and 2002 GSXR suspension. Only mods is the rear section on the frame which is...

    Flywheel Magnetic Rotor Damaged

I ran into this problem with a later model GS500. The pilot jets needed changed. The lean mixture would cause the idle to increase unexpectedly and or randomly. After custom fitting ( hand drilled ) some jets to this motorcycle, the rider never complained again.

Pilot Air Jet P/N 0949334001 - Need One!

It's recommended you don't drill them out but you can. Wire sized drill bits will help out but you need to figure out the size. I've been known to drill them out. Mainly pilot jets. 170 is a number that the manufacture uses to identify the jet size - they have no rhyme or reason and the...

    1983 gs1000
