DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Finding a Weaker Carb Return Spring

I feel your pain. My 77 GS750 had a tough throttle. I used a cramp buster. It helped. Some people hate them, but it made the bike ridable for me. You can pick them up for like $10. So it's a pretty cheap experiment. I don't seem to have this issue on my newer bikes.

Cincinnati OH to Maryville TN route suggestions

Thanks Brian! I definitely want to avoid sucky roads. I'll look at those routes and ping you if I need more guidance. I'm sure I've been on those before, but I was just following you. No idea where I really was. Just trying to stay on the road and avoid washouts, potholes, and oncoming traffic.

    Tires for the Bandit

Of all the tires I ran on my 1250, I liked the PR2's best. Performed as well or better for me than the PR3's or PR4's (Road5 weren't out while I owned the bike). They lasted as long if not longer than any others, and cost less too.

Cincinnati OH to Maryville TN route suggestions

That would be flippin' awesome! Hope it works out. I haven't ridden the newest part of the parkway yet and am really looking forward to it. Riding with you again would be icing on the cake.

Cincinnati OH to Maryville TN route suggestions

In the next month or so I'll have the opportunity to ride from Cincinnati OH to Maryville TN. I'll have all day to get from point A to point B. I'm looking for the most interesting route to get me there between sunup and sundown. I'm hoping 1978GS750E, storm 64, cowboyup3371, and others will...

My Blue Ridge Parkway Ride 2016

Congratulations on completing the journey. Nothing a nice long motorcycle trip to make you want to get back out and do another. Great pics and write-up. Thanks for sharing.

My Blue Ridge Parkway Ride 2016

That's great! Looks like a fun route. And there's just nothing like taking a long motorcycle trip. Best wishes for all the fun, none of the drama, and may all the LEO avoid your path.

    First flat tire experience.

That's nice with a built in gauge. Will save you some hassle on the side of the road one day.

    First flat tire experience.

As has been said, BTDT. I carry the Neely repair kit that Steve mentioned as per bwringer's recommendation. Has worked on my tires and has come in handy helping other people out. I also carry one in each of my 4 wheeled vehicles. I also carry a Slime pump I bought at an auto-parts store. It's...

Welp, not a good end to the day.

Oh no! What a mess. Sorry man. Super glad you're physically whole. Shame about the bike though. Hope insurance writes you a big, fat check.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

I think Joe Nardy got pulled over by the cops for doing that in ChicagoLand. It's a great way to practice right-hand turns :)

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Spent some time social distancing with rphilips. Followed him around middle TN for the better part of the day. He sure knows his way around here. He estimates we did 170 miles. I feel like I put in 300. Been a while since I've spent so long in the saddle. Local scenery is amazing and there's no...

    why no self canceling signals?

Those look pretty cool. They even have one that fits my Tiger. I'd like to have one, but instead I'll probably spend the 100 bucks on gas for the bike, and try to remember to cancel the signals manually.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Ricky! Long time no see. Hope all is well. I've been by the distillery, and wandered around and got lost some in that general area. All nice roads and scenery, but I don't know the area well. If work isn't too busy and the weather cooperates, I might sneak away for a bit Friday. Would be cool...

    why no self canceling signals?

I'd heard that HD had a patent on self-cancelling turn signals and wouldn't license it to anyone else. That's why everyone else had to stop doing it, but HD has it to this day. But now I can't seem to find any source to support that statement. So maybe that's not the reason after all.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Finally! Weather and family commitments aligned to allow me to get a bike out yesterday. Rode one of my favourite local loops for about 3 hours. FavLoop by Greg White, on Flickr Looks like they've added a new boat landing near the dam. Had to grab a couple of shots. IMG_0313 (2) by Greg...
