A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Good, Bad, and not so bad but not so good GS850

Wow, good story. Temperamental buggars - eh? Yes they are, but the good folks of the GSR family know what these beasts like, so if you follow the good advice, you really are all set. Sounds like you did and - like magic - she's running like a champ. Excellent job! You mentioned this was your...

    83 GS1100SD Katana seat cover ?????

The 82 and 83 1100 seats have the same color pattern (except 83 750s were red and grey.) It's just 83 is smooth vinyl and the 82 is the imitation suede. I don't know anyone making an 83 cover either. I've sent emails to Corbin (they made a Corbin seat for Kats at one time) but I think you might...

    83 GS1100SD Katana seat cover ?????

83 1100SD did not have the grey imitation suede on the back - those were 82 seats (1000 and 1100). 83 Kats had smooth vinyl in the back. As far as anyone making 82 replacement seat covers, I've seen that here on the forum once - it may have come from Australia - I can't recall. I've heard...

    Full Fairing for gs550esd?

550ES, nice bike!! I think you might be referring to "Lockhart" lowers. It's been a while, but I'm pretty certain the 700/750/1100 ES cowling is slightly different than the 550 ES cowling. If you go through the gallery, or past BOM pictures, you'll run across Russ' 83 1100ES with Lockhart...

New Bike, Trying to get it to start

I just re-read my post - hope it didn't come across like a jerk. Very sorry if it did (I was certainly a little confused by your sequence ) After reading your reply, it makes perfect sense. Good luck, I'm sure once the basics are in place, you'll get her fired up in no time.

New Bike, Trying to get it to start

New Bike New Bike Wow - you change the gear oil, buy air pods, but won't mount the handlebars or get the ignition and controls straight. It won't start and appears to have no spark. If the ignition is still off, I don't think it'll generate a spark, or start. Did you check the kill switch...

What is the material on an 82 Katana seat

82 Kat Seat material 82 Kat Seat material Ranger is correct, it is an imitation suede made from vinyl. There's a North American Classic Katana web site where I read that there was a guy in France that hand made and then recovered your stock seat and it was claimed to be virtually identical. If...
