DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Hello New member here

Welcome and that your 550T looks to be in good shape. Recommendation when you do the carbs make sure you change the O rings - forum member sells a perfect package for them www.cycleorings.com/#BS_Series_O-ring_Kit . My brother in Ontario was looking for that exact same bike - bit hard to come...

    Howdy.

Howdy back eh! From Canada! I have two 550T's but with the stock air box, jets etc. both run like tops. Great little bikes! Lots of help available from all the super knowledgeable members!

Modern Motorcycle most like a real 80's UJM ?

Your advice is bang on here ... My wife and started the keto type dieting this winter, highly recommend it. Low carbs and sugar, eat more fat and protein so you need to drink lots of water which is hardly ever a bad thing! You have to do some homework for recipes and options but it has yielded...

    Success!!!

Great to see you share your excitement! You should be very proud of yourself! I too joined the GS Club here a while ago with little ability and knowledge and now, with a few dollars and some time I am willing to try most things on my bikes. All the credit goes to those knowledgeable senior...

    1982 GS650G & GS650GL Exhaust - Compatible?

Thanks for the input. Interestingly I too took some GS550L 82 pipes and put them seamlessly on to my GS550T so I am hoping for the same luck here!

    1982 GS650G & GS650GL Exhaust - Compatible?

Anyone in GS-Land know whether the exhaust pipes from the 1982 GS650G and the GS650GL are compatible/interchangeable? The parts descriptions from Partizilla show slightly different stock numbers for the two. 10 GS points to whoever answers correctly! Cheers! Mm

Front Fork Seals GS650G 82 Project

Yup ... that's the plan now. I'll fill it with the correct amount (241 ml I think but will double check the manual) and see how it goes. I was surprised at the cost of the oil ... $22.00 Canadian for a litre ... but then again a $5 fancy coffee still baffles me.

Front Fork Seals GS650G 82 Project

So I am restoring a GS650G 82 from the frame up and having a lot of fun slowly seeing it come together. I want it to be as good a runner as I can make it without going broke. I was intending on replacing the fork seals and have read both the manual and Basscliff's instructions on doing the...

Steve, Which 3 terminal conectors do you use and where are you purchasing them from?

Where's everyone getting their STOCK parts from these days?

I use Partzilla but be aware that if you do they have a ten day or maybe shorter return policy. They sent me the wrong clutch cable and I had it delivered to my US address and it sat there for a few days before I had a chance to go pick it up. When I went to try to get them to accept the...

    Any Idea What Happened Here?

It took some carb cleaner to remove the stain. Thanks for the flame explanation, I more fully understand the manner in which the valve likely play a role and the trouble they can cause if out of adjustment. Lening how to adjust the valve clearance is on my spring bucket list. Thanks to all...

    Any Idea What Happened Here?

It will remain, likely, a mystery. I suppose oneway to debunk the ignition or combustion hypothesis is to ask where could/would an ignition source come from?

    Any Idea What Happened Here?

I am ok if this sounds goofy cuz I very much consider myself to be a learner, but since there was a heavy "soot" stain on the bottom of the cylinder (hope I go the part name right Steve - I am trying) above this jet/tube that is fractured and only the one cylinder is stained, is there any chance...

    What's a T?

You are correct, I was mistaken. There was an 83 750T for sale up Whistler way a while back that was an 83 I believe with a black engine for $2700 Cnd that was in nice shape. You learn something new everyday or as you age you remeber things you forgot, if you're lucky.

    What's a T?

"Suzuki believes, obviously, that the custom-styled market simply has to expand and that this is one of the directions it will expand in." Sadly if I am not mistaken this was the last year for this model. Thanks for typing this out for all to read!

    Any Idea What Happened Here?

Thanks for the proper identification of the stuff in my description. I referred to the Parts Diagrams from Partzilla to try to get it right. You'll notice I am in the "forum apprentice" category ... ain't no "sage" ... maybe someday ... maybe. The answer I am looking for is what could have...

    What's a T?

I also agree, very clean balanced bike and hence it is on my bike bucket list ... only thing missing is a dual disk up front ...

    What's a T?

Is that an LP made by Suzuki musical instrument division? Lawsuit era? It's a bolt on neck for a LP ... don't work for me! How's the winter going in Saskatchewan? Lots of RAIN here ...

    Any Idea What Happened Here?

You'll see by the photo that I have a main pilot jet tube (I think that's what it is called) that is busted in half. I was tearing apart a set of 550 carbs I picked up on eBay and had some difficulty pulling the diaphragm/needle jet out of one of the carbs. After some pulling and prodding it...
