A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    2021 Blue Ridge Adventure

Given the late start, short day, and impending rain we decided to stop at the end of Skyline Drive / beginning of the Blue Ridge. We stayed at an equally majestic Super 8 in Waynesboro, enjoying fine dining a short walk away at the Golden Corral. Saturday morning brought low clouds, a very...

    2021 Blue Ridge Adventure

I left Thursday morning at 6am on my new GW, and 12 hours and 625 uneventful miles later, I made it to Front Royal and grabbed a room at the majestic Motel 6 (not!) and waited for Andy. Andy was supposed to leave right after work for a 300 miles buzz down to meet me at the hotel around 9 or...

    2021 Blue Ridge Adventure

Hello fellow GS’ers. I wanted to take a ride down to visit an old New England GS’er and fellow Moosehead alumni – Doug (aka, Crag Antler) who now lives down near Asheville NC. At the same time, I could cross off a bucket list item – Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway. We made tentative...

    Trip around Finland on a -81 GS850G

Congratulations on a safe and successful road trip, and thank you for sharing! Great descriptions and pictures - such beautiful scenery. It's very exciting and rewarding to head out with minimal plans on sleeping arrangements, which is great for flexibility, but a bit worrisome when it starts...

    Hello from Derry New Hampshire

Hi Tico, welcome to the forum. It's great you added pics - the 750 looks very nice! The 850 needs some love for sure... I live just south of Nashua, and I'm in Derry once or twice a week so maybe we can go for a ride sometime. It's been pretty wet this summer - July for sure! Let's hope...

Is the 1980 16 valve GS1100L Hard to Find?

I've only rode the 16 valve engines since 82, and I absolutely love them. Super strong engine with room to grow. So I can't add anything to the 8 vs. 16 valve discussion other than both engines are strong and will go way faster than is legal. Some say the 8 valve is a less buzzy configuration...

Way to go Bob!!! Trevor, glad to see you're up and out too! The ceramic coating looks awesome BTW! Sorry to hear about your Dad and Dave's wife's Dad - there's never any good words to express sincere feelings when a friend loses someone very close... I'm planning on getting out next week - it's...

    I had a crash...a big one!

Wow Trevor - what a scare it was reading your introduction! Glad to catch up and find you're healing up (albeit slowly and painfully), you're not going broke with medical bills, you've got a lawyer, proof the idiot blew thru the stop sign, a great partner AND you're looking at new rides. There's...

I think the euro 1000 Kats actually got VM32 smoothbores, but perhaps a British GS'r can confirm that. Their 82 1100 Kats got CVs...

    1984 Katana 7/11

That's actually a Katana center stand, slightly different than an E center stand. Heck, everything but the tool kit is OEM Katana (except the VM33s - which were OEM on the European 82 1000sz)
