A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Magic Beads! (tire balancing beads - yay or nay?)

I omitted that part, but I do align the mark with the stem. I try to get the rim as close as possible.

Magic Beads! (tire balancing beads - yay or nay?)

I balance the rim, no tire. Mount the tire, balance normally is unchanged. If it is changed, I rebalance. Done. No beads needed or wanted.

Magic Beads! (tire balancing beads - yay or nay?)

All these magic beads or dyna beads have been debunked several times already. I am surprised that posts keep popping up about them.

    spark plug wires

I run the wires as short as possible from coil to plug and clip them together where they cross or are adjacent to each other using clips made for this. This way the wires don't touch the head anywhere along their length.

    Puzzling brake question.

Springs are to stop the pads from rattling in the caliper. Shims are between the pad and piston to stop squeal. There is a grease sold for this purpose as well.

    Puzzling brake question.

My bike uses shims on the front, none in back. The squeal is directly related to how stiff the mounting is. If the caliper/pad can vibrate in sympathy with the minute oscillations caused by minor irregularities in the disk, then you have the noise. The shim dampens this out.

    Chain Disadvantages ,,Advantages,,!!!

Chain drive bikes handle better- no rise and fall with acceleration /deceleration. Plus, everyone knows that shaft drive bikes can't wheelie.

Will this location work for SH775 R/R?

Posplayer, the electrical tape is horrible, I know, and I would love to run across the stock fusebox cover, although I plan on switching to a Eastern Beaver blade fuse box in the future. The ignitor swapped no problem with the stock wires but I did have to drill a new hole in the backing plate...

pics: The 775 bolted to the side of the battery box- The ignitor is where the r/r normally is-

Will this location work for SH775 R/R?

I put my 775 in the ignitor's stock location on the right side of the battery box and moved the ignitor to where the r/r was. Works great as the bolt hole spacing of the ignitor and 775 are the same.
