A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

You probably know I am Goldwing addicted - You can be too -- Look Inside ;)

I towed a UniGo with my GL1500 for 2 trips - It was a single wheeled inline tracking trailer and I never knew it was there - But I found out I was towing it nearly empty so I sold it Truth - Liability disclaimer ;) If you look at the typical Goldwing couple riding 2-up they are well over...

Which year did shim adjustments quit

One thing I loved about my '96 Honda Goldwing GL1500 -- Hydraulic lifters - No adjustments in 161,000 miles ;) Now the GL1800 I have is shim under bucket - but check every 32K miles - so far only 2 changes in 70K The GS850GL is now settled in - I suspect my next check will reveal no changes .

    Shinko 230s or 712s?

This reasoning is how I also change rubber on my Goldwing The Bridgestones I favor are the least expensive GOOD set of galoshes for the Wing - They only last about 8500 to 9500 miles (which is what I average annually on the Wing) So Each Spring I put on a NEW set and love a full season of...

    Jedz gets a GS550E

JEDZ -- does it have a 6 speed gearbox ? I took my motorcycle license test on that bike in 1978 -- MY 1978 Honda CX500 was too small and would've gotten a limited license (at the time) You had to test on a 550 or bigger (back then a 750 was enormous) My friend had that bike so I borrowed it...

It goes bad so quickly It goes bad so quickly I went out for a good shakedown ride of about 100 miles When I returned I noticed the rear rotor was pretty warm (I routinely touch the rotors to check temps) It was HOT = not melt your plastic hot - but too hot to hold on to - BRAKE DRAG ! Crazy thinking about my 1983 GS850GL

Thank You I am really happy with the accuracy of this unit - In the 100 miles you see on the trip meter it is off by less than 1/10th of a mile from my Zumo 550 which was/is mounted on the left handlebar - Speed is DEAD ON and it looks cool to see digital readout of speed rather than a...

what did you wrench on today??

The heli-coil style - Which I am certain work really well - I chose the TimeSert because I KNEW I wanted to apply some real oomph (technical term for torque) to the bolt and this seemed to be more better :) Also it came with 5 inserts so I could do other holes if I found them to be lacking in...

what did you wrench on today??

Weirdly the hole was still threaded - the last one or maybe two turns - but it wouldn't pull tight enough to seal the gasket . I was very reluctant to apply any more torque as it was just barely holding on - I am sure the first few turns were GONE - The bolt was finger tight immediately after...

what did you wrench on today??

Take a look at this picture and you MAY guess what I am doing --- However what I am really doing is fixing an oil leak - The lower most bolt was not able to pull the cover tight Some previous owner decided that more torque would easily stop the leak - I have been chasing it for years and...
