A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Anyone want to guess which bike they came from? Hmmmmmmm......long tubes, leading axle...........adjuster knobs on the bottom?...........single disc brakes.............maybe a tscc 550? From about 80 or 81, that's my guess, but could be a twin. Anyone else wanna guess?

    Hello to everyone

That's great looking bike. The black paint is really fine. Of course if you'd painted it red it would be 5 MPH faster. Thanks for posting.

1983 GS750ES can't replace fuel line with carburetor on bike

I had that problem once and ended up putting a brass rod in the nipple and sliding the fuel line down the rod and pushing it over the nipple from above. Crude but it worked.

Buyers guide for an 83 gs1100e?

I would really recommend getting the best tires you can find for one of these beasts. Tires and brakes are 2 must haves for any liter-bike. Speaking of which, I would also recommend new pads for the front brakes, the ones in there appear to be worn, and modern brake pads make a huge difference...

    Battery Probe

Does anyone know where to find a probe for the GS1100E? I would really prefer not to have to cover the light for low battery acid level. I have a battery with a hole for the probe, but the probe itself is long gone.

GSX250E bogging down after a mile - dirty petrol ?

I had a problem last fall somewhat similar to your, the Ratzuki would fire up just fine, but out on the road i lost power. I finally figured out the battery was not charging. a new battery and it's fine. You say your battery is charged, thats good. One less thing to worry about. Another...

    Clutch Cover 3400 ml labels

Sure looks like a Suzie. The Yamaha XS750 was a 3-banger, not too hard to tell the difference.

    Help with Bike identification

It looks to me like the instrument panel and headlight came off of a GSX750, either 80 or 81. Thats what i would say for bikes sold in North America anyway. Don't have a clue what might have been sold in Australia.

    Clutch Cover 3400 ml labels

I have owned a number of 2v and 4v suzukis and none of them have ever had a label for that. It's always been cast in the metal. Never seen a label on anyone else's bike either .What bike are we talking about here? Pix?

    New GS850 owner

Before you tear into the calipers, try sliding some modern brake pads in it. Made a great difference to the braking on my '81 850 (the RatZuki). It had the original (1981) pads in it and the braking was lousy till I had some new organic pads installed. Of course you might want to rebuild the...

Anyone else excited about the start of MotoGP season?

It's kinda hard to get excited about something which you don't know what it is. I'm going to assume MotoGP is a race of some sort.

    Exhaust port degradation...

What does the inside of the pipe look like? I'd wonder if maybe there might have been a fuel additive working, or some such, but.......just in one cylinder is really strange. How does that port compare to the others? What SHOULD it look like? It looks.....constricted. Almost like it had been...

Replacement for starter switch contact button.

In the 70s and 80s Suzuki was well-known for using the same parts on a large number of machines. Dunno if they still do. It was a great service to their customers.

    1980 GS1000GL - From the scrapheap to...

Dunno if anyone has mentioned this, but the PO had the front wheel mounted backward. It will work that way, but looks wonky. Glad to see you put the new one on right.

    Appropriate pricing for a 79gs1000e

I wouldn't go for that one. There are lots of better choices out there. (see https://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/showthread.php?262878-I-have-twins-in-the-garage). If a GS1100E won't get you excited you need to see a shrink.

    81 GS1100E... which swingarm do i have??

As I recall: Every 16-valve 1100 had the built-up square section aluminum swingarm. This was a New Idea from Suzuki. No manufacturer had used a swingarm like that previously. The 16-valve 750s (and all smaller engines) used the round-tube steel swingarms.

    Gs450, suggested jets?

You don't need a bigger bike, you already have one. Get that 1000G up and running and you'll have all the power you can use safely on the street.
