A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hydraulic lift or hoist, what do you use?

My garage door is muscle powered. I have clunked something unimportant once, maybe a clamp on light from a rafter, I don't remember. So the door space is something I'm aware of.

    1985 Kawasaki GPz750 needs refresh

Had a hard time with the rear brake system. Eventually replaced everything except the pedal. The Kawasaki rear master cylinder seems to be very much the same for many of their bikes, with slight differences. I did rear brake jobs on 3 of my bikes. They do get taken for granted.

Hydraulic lift or hoist, what do you use?

Just so happens I'm replacing tires dating back to the 1990s, so I have the front end hoisted up.

Hydraulic lift or hoist, what do you use?

I wish I had so much room in the garage. :)

Hydraulic lift or hoist, what do you use?

I use the same system you do. I found a small 1/4 ton chain hoist. I use it for front end work, removing front wheel. It would be nice to not have to sit on the floor while working, but a hydraulic lift takes up too much space when not in use. I would want to use a chain hoist for backup safety...

    In love with this woman

Cute, and she has plenty of experience, having to build a new Mad Max vehicle after every monsoon season. Wonder what her grandmother looks like? That's my age group. :subdued:

    1985 Kawasaki GPz750 needs refresh

Finally getting some rides in after waiting weeks for different parts. More to do, I bought clip-on handlebars from an 83 GPz because they're lower and more forward, I have long arms. Need new tires but I'll wait until next season, plus some carb adjustments, power drops off at 8,000 RPM.

You were really that hard core? Wow, I thought you were just a regular dad type. Very good!!! :applouse: PS: I was never hard core alcohol, but I was smoking way too much pot back in 2023. Quit both in March. They just made me feel weird & stupid, not fun anymore.

Riding & the effect on the mind.

I'm retired now, (even if my clients don't get it). Sometimes I question the validity of my behaviors. Regarding riding bikes and collecting bikes I read this today: Google Ai Overview: "No, collecting old motorcycles is not a syndrome. The key difference lies in whether the behavior is an...

    Oil contamination

The most obvious sign of leaking head gasket is a steam cloud coming out of the tailpipe, in cold weather. You can smell ethyl glycol when the engine is running.

Got the starter clutch out, utube videos were a big help. The case is cracked, seems to be a common failure. Waiting for gaskets now.

    Lithium Ion batteries combusting?

Well, this article from Motorcycle.com is reassuring: "Lithium battery myths We’ve all heard stories about lithium batteries that have caught fire. While we certainly don’t want that to happen to our bikes, the fear is mostly misplaced. The fires we typically read about are with lithium-ion...

    Lithium Ion batteries combusting?

I have Li-ion batteries in 2 of my bikes, and love the low weight and long life, but after hearing so many reports of Li-ion battery fires I decided to buy an AGM for the GPz750 I just bought. Now I think I'll take them out my other bikes, and keep them outside and away. At my age, I've...
