A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Craigslist derelict, 1K & as usual 'no title' - 78 GS1000E

You can’t get it titled/registered without taking it there if it’s out of the system as they have to look at the VIN etc numbers so that part makes sense at least… :)

    Digital Gauges Guinea Pig.

I did one on the 750. It was a pain but not too bad once I got it sorted. Tach was the hardest bit so if they are using cables & sort that out maybe it's a winner... Mine was a Koso

    FortNine Lane filtering

It's normal in more of the world than not... I don't know why the US / Canada has to make such a big deal about it! Too many damn lawyers ;) Crabs in a bucket.... must be a Home Depot Bucket, very Orange  ;)

    Intermittent overflow

Yeah there is something better... I had them in the 1100 & they worked great. Very similar problem to you in fact. Was recommended on here somewhere. Cheaper than OEM & available. I will try to figure out what they were!

    '79 750 Fork Oil Level

20w is too much unless you weight 500lbs & have very stiff springs fitted.... 10w is about right for most, sometimes even 5w or 7.5w if you fit cartridge emulators. :)

    GS1000 "retromod" build questions

There's definitely been one or two similar to this done before... plenty of info on here. My 750 build used GSXR parts but I went for the older setup which is longer. Some have used a step triple from (I think) a Honda to gain a bit more length :)

    1981 gs750 (gs750e) Retro Racer project

Ha.. I've heard (and done) of brazing before but never with Tig! Learn something new every day I guess!

Interesting bikes at the Handbuilt Show in San Pedro

I went to that same show in Austin when I was at the COTA MotoGP. Some of it was interesting, not much there that I'd want to ride though! :D

    Wireless Electric Guitar Question

There's usually a bunch of stuff on 2.4. Wireless mice, keyboards, smarthome stuff etc. You'd be pretty unlucky to have a conflict & if you did you could likely change the WIFI channel at the router & it would sort it out.

GS850G Won't Start, Electrical Issue, No Spark

Pretty common that an overcharging event like this would fry the igniter..... :) Headlight bulb blowing is usually the first obvious sign.

    Long trips anyone?

I’ve done several trips 1500-2000 miles in length over the years without any problems :)

    Cybertruck

They look better wrapped… manufacturing those huge flat panels must be horrible! When you look up close the panels are always junk, wavy.. dents etc. :(

    Setscrew valve adjustments

Most Suzuki’s wear so slowly that’s it’s definitely not something I worry about… once I’ve done a couple of checks and know it’s settled I’d be quite happy doing 20.000 miles adjustments on the shim under bucket ones personally. :)

Looking for recommendation on a bag to put on stock (I think) GS1100E rear rack

Nelson Rigg have a 25% labor day say. Code labor2025 if anyone can use it. I've always had good luck with their products.

    New Guy

Those RFY shocks are know for being shipped without much oil in them & there are some other weaknesses. The "piggyback" is usually just a fake. They aren't all the same even though they look the same.... They are just a cheap shock made to look fancy. I ran some for a few weeks on the 1000...

Very old AGV crash helmet visor ?

Not sure what it's like over there these days but there are a bunch of retro helmets that look like that & are probably as cheap as any decent visor you could find for that thing (unless you can find someones granddad clearing out their garage with one to give away.... ) Bell &...

    Significant setback for self-driving vehicles

When I was in Austin one of those got confused, took a guy to the airport and then went into some weird loop as it was where it shouldn't be and wouldn't stop and let passenger out because it's software said it wasn't safe.... Eventually Waymo shut it down & opened the doors remotely & let the...
