A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    GS500 electronic ignition into GS400/425?

Have you looked at these? They quietly have quite a good reputation I believe but I haven't tried one personally.... https://ignitech.cz/en/vyrobky :)

    Clicking and not turning over

What about with the plugs removed? What about if you put it in gear & "bump" the engine a bit & then try again? Maybe the motor is not getting full torque as well... Either connections as suggested above or the motor is worn out / dirty / worn out commutator :)

    Front brake pad replacements

It's something easy to try at least! :) Good luck! I doubt the reservoir (container) could have anything to do with this as all the "action" is happening below the bottom of the reservoir. Even if it was leaking air at that point it would presumably just come to the surface in the reservoir and...

    Front brake pad replacements

You should check the bleeders. I have seen where the air bleeders will allow air back into the caliper & cause a situation like you describe. It was undetectable by eye, smell, feel etc. No fluid coming out. One of the members on here (TomMLC) and myself chased that one for ages when he did a...

    Huge Nascar question

Yes, Norris winning was good. :) It may help when the cars get smaller but I don't think so. The smaller formulas had no better luck than F1 really and they are a lot smaller & slower than F1 cars will be in 2026. Verstappen said in his post race that he thinks an F1 car could "just about"...

    Huge Nascar question

You forgot the "Dramatic Spin and run along the infield for a bit" section and the "touch the wall" and "rub another car" instructions. Got to get some excitement in there somewhere! (F1 Monaco is just as bad - Instructions 1. Follow car in front 2. The end..) ;)

    Brake Rotor Compatibility

Yeah, I'd run it. You can't turn these rotors anyway, you have to find someone to set them up & grind them flat... Not easy! :)

    Newbie through and through

Do you get good voltage at the coils? Clean up all the connectors in the loom (especially the ignition switch and fuse box) and/or fit a relay. There are some write ups on that on here. You are going to want to replace the RR as well. Very well known weak spot. K&N or APE pods are what you want...

    '83 550: Leaking Fuel, Can't Idle

My first try would be to put a high dose of SeaFoam in the tank and run it... see if you can cure it that way. My guess is that you have blocked passages in the carb and/or one of the float valves is stuck or something, They will be due a clean & O-ring replacement if you haven't done so...

Go practice with Grimly... Ireland's not that big! You probably live next door to each other ;) :D

2001 Toyota Camry - Anyone familiar with these?

My friend had one from about that era... he donated it. They fixed it up (to get it smogged) and moved it on for about 5 grand or something. It was probably a couple years newer & a bit less miles but not pretty as it had lived in the Wet/snow followed by the sun by the beach all it's life. All...

    Wobble at low speeds

That could do it... also make sure you "settle" the forks by bouncing them after securing the top bolts before you do up the lowers. :)

    Steering stem removal and replacement

Did you inspect the bearings? When you loosened it off & messed with it & then tightened you may well have moved the bearing relative to the race so now you're on a "fresh" bit (because the bearing doesn't fully rotate). My guess is your bearing is rusty or breaking down. :)

    Slate Truck

I was looking at these the other day. I don't see why it wouldn't work. The trick is they need to trendy as well as cheap.... I suspect a lot of kids (and me) would rather drive one of these than a Chevy Bolt... ;) The Maverick has been incredibly popular... I don't see why this wouldn't fly if...

    Steering stem removal and replacement

Yes is the answer to that question... you just need the right size. There was a guy on here making the tool at one point but I don't know what happened to him.

    Brakes, front tire, chain

It's in the bottom of the MC reservoir. You can only see it when you pull the lever. If those lines are stock they will be all rubber & have white writing on them with a date. You'll be surprised how much jelly like fluid/crud will be closing up the lines & stuck behind the pistons! :) There...
