A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Spoiler Alert: MotoGP (or any other race) thread for immediate disscussion of races.

I've only recently been watching Moto3. I'm amazed at all the bad moves resulting in crashes in this beginner class. Every race seems to have an attrition rate of 50% DNF. Not at all thrilled by the crashes, appalled at the stupid moves by the inexperienced riders. Bikes bound and tumble so...

    About to purchase

Well, the only real problem I had right away when I bought my 82 GS1100G, was the gas petcock needed a rebuild. The neoprene membrane was rotted so gas was sucked up the vacuum hose into the #2 intake pipe.. EZ fix.

Replacement for 3 tab flasher relay on 1100G?

Seems the 3 tab relay does not flash anymore. Switch works and lights are on, but no flashing. I'm having to use the thumb switch to manually flash turn signals on every corner. Can anybody suggest a fix?

Is there a pilot screw tool?

Well, it's only the knob he uses the lathe for. He could have used any found object and glued it on the end for a knob. I did buy a similar tool, but find it hard to feel the air screw movement or if the tip was actually engaged in the air screw slot. Just using a screwdriver tip with my...

Back on the road!!! Last summer in Lafayette IN, I had a low side crash on this bike. Then again a month later it fell off a trailer. All my fault. Took me a year to get over it but I did, and now it's back.

new bikes, your opinion on current engine configuration trends

The huge flaw with the GS engines is the stater location inside the side case, plus weak rectifiers. Runner up: the single use fiber gaskets. Those problems were resolved on the SACS engines. The new parallel twins are impressive, and have become more popular than the 600cc i4 sport bikes.
