A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hey Burque, the picture you labeled as @CowboyUp is actually Scott Marvin's (Marvinsc). I couldn't figure out what I would use in time this week

    GSF1250SA Bandit Fork Seals

Picked up the seal driver and ordered all of the parts to include the damper rod holder doohickey from Iron Pony since they'll get it to me early next week. Now to talk to Sonic Springs about new springs for up front. Rdesmond, I know you don't own them anymore and yes, it's not hard to send...

    GSF1250SA Bandit Fork Seals

Thank you guys. I read back through the service records and the PO never had to change the seals before so they are probably due. Especially considering the bike has over 99,000 miles on it already (yes, I will record that day). I will email sonic springs to see what my options are and...

Celebrating Number 51 On the Motorcycle

Thank you Scott. Right now there are very tentative plans for a ride to Gettysburg. I have a niece I haven’t seen in 20+ years whose husband will graduate from the Army War College and receive his promotion to Lieutenant Colonel (he’s prior enlisted at that) Memorial Day weekend. Other than...

Celebrating Number 51 On the Motorcycle

Yes it did Dave; I only put the thermostat on the medium setting but it was enough to make it comfortable. I have found that the four digit KY roads are more like connector roads between the more developed highways but they are deceivingly fun. Of course, I really haven’t found many roads in...

Thank you and I agree on the cool part. I needed my heated jacket twice throughout the entire trip

Cam chain tensioner small oring behind jam nut

You'll do yourself more good to just follow the entire guide and replace everything. Like you said, it's 40 years old and could probably stand a new gasket, o-rings, and maybe removal of the pit that has likely developed on the pushrod

Celebrating Number 51 On the Motorcycle

It's not as big of a deal as if I had turned 50 but I decided I needed to make up for the missed ride I was supposed to make for my 49th birthday two years ago when this COVID crap started. So, after a short discussion with the family and offer to a friend of mine to join me, he and I took off...

    Odd Brake Problem

Sounds like the master cylinder and calipers need a cleaning and maybe refresh as there’s a small return port that can get plugged. When was the last time you changed the fluid?

So the periods are what you did differently Bob? I can see them here in the quote though not in your message above. Still a useless requirement in my opinion

    GSF1250SA Bandit Fork Seals

Discovered tonight that I’ll need to replace the Bandit’s fork seals when I get home. I’ll read through my service manual later this week but does anyone have any tips to help me with them or are they similar to my 550? Also, any advice on where to place the bike lift so as to no affect the 4-1...

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Celebrated number 51 by riding to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green KY with a friend on his Harley and my wife and kids in the car. They both made their way home and I’m on my way to meet up with Scott Marvin tomorrow. I’ll post pictures when I get home Tuesday.

No I’m sorry, Steve has not found it. Dpep or Frank, can we please remove this 15 character requirement? It’s aggravating to build a sentence longer than is necessary
