A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Was going to the dentist but then took a detour ;)

I took the GSX for a ride to the dentist and after I was done I didn't want to go home since I had a full tank of gas and the bike was working flawlessly, so that 30min ride back home from the dentist turned into a 3-4 hour roundtrip around my homeparts. Enjoy ;)

    83 GSX1100ES, "worn-out-edition"

Seems it will be getting a new owner in a couple of weeks, a guy emailed me and we negotiated a price we can both live and he made a deposit so seems legit. Guess I'll just have to ride it as much as I can then before it goes away. Some pics I took for the ad:

My new project thread: 78' GS750

Took it for an evening ride after work yesterday, funny how riding a bike makes you forget about bad days at work, arguments and other worries. Guess thats why you don't see motorcycles parked outside phsycologist offices ;)

    83 GSX1100ES, "worn-out-edition"

Needed to remove the collector for welding a little hole, couldn't get the #1 pipe free from it no matter what I tried, doesn't matter though as the hole was in the #4 pipe ;) So no exhaust leaks there now. The cam chain tensioner was locked I found out causing a whole lot of rattle in the...

    cam chain slack and adjuster

thanks for the help guys, I checked the tensioner today and it was locked. I loosened it and hopefully it will be noise free when i get the exhaust back on and fire her up tomorrow. I don't know how long it has been locked like that and if any damage might have ocurred because of it being like...

My new project thread: 78' GS750

#2 is carbon, it just looks shiny 'cause of the picture I checked the voltage today and both coils are getting the same voltage. However there was a voltage drop of about 2-2,5 V from battery to coils measured with ignition ON, engine and lights OFF. With Engine on I measured a good 13 volts...

    cam chain slack and adjuster

No, on mine the noise is there regardless of the engine being hot or cold.

    cam chain slack and adjuster

I feel there is something wrong with my gsx1100es engine, it's making more mechanical noise than my 750 and when listening around with a screw driver I find the noise to be strongest at the top of the engine near the center of it. It's a rattling noise, kinda like valves except I have adjusted...

new speedo/tach, no more fuel gauge

I don't have a fuel gauge on my 78, I just ride til it starts acting funny, put the petcock on reserve and go to the gas station to fill up. Last time I reset the odometer so now I know approximately when to fill up before it goes to the reserve

Changed the exhaust gaskets today, funny it should leak with all those gaskets in place  Needed to swap out some bolts to since they became too long with only one gasket at each pipe ;)

Ignition issue, new GS owner, first time old bike owner.

If you have a multimeter there should be a continuity tester on it, connect one probe to one end of a wire and the other probe to the other end of the wire and it should make a loud beep. If it doesn't beep there is no connection, or continuity... But from the pics I've seen of the dyna S it...

Front end feels a little squirmish, remedy?

I checked the air pressure today and found only half of what was supposed to be in the rear tyre. So I pumped it up and that made all the difference, handles much better now. I suspect thats what caused the bike to feel like it did. Also set suspension sag properly, its stiffer now in the front...

Ignition issue, new GS owner, first time old bike owner.

So that tells you that BOTH your coils are working. Good! Your problem then lies in the path of the signal going from the dyna s to the coil. Either something is wrong with the black wire, or something is wrong with the red wire going to the pickup with the black wire. I read dyna s has a 1...

Front end feels a little squirmish, remedy?

Are you sure? The stuff I've read says these bikes have rebound damping  Maybe in your part of the world, not here.... I have considered the balckbird also, but I think it looks dated, I've considered the zx14 but that's way out of my price league, so that leaves the busa... No not...

Front end feels a little squirmish, remedy?

Well, I got the bike dirt cheap and the plan was to fix it and use it this season as a 2-up bike for me and my gf since my GS got cafe'd while I save up some money for a newer ride, problem is there is a guy selling a pretty clean Hayabusa a couple of blocks down from me now, which is sporty...

pros and cons of painting engines

Whats up with these iphonepad pictures hanging upside down?? I use my phone to take pictures too but they always come out right side up... android ftw?:-\\\ About paint: Black is cool, but looks bad once scratched or if it starts to flake off. Aluminium looks clean and if it...
