    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    What is it?

What is it? (Again) What is it? (Again) I took a close look at the exhaust. They look like 1983 pipes without the scuff shield (or heat shield if you prefer). The rear hanger is closer to the front of the last section of pipe than it is in the center. I bet the exhaust flanges on the outer...

    What is it?

What is it? Tank, seat, front fender and tail section point to 80/81. Front end has a leading axle, so it's 80 or 81 (82 and up had center axle). GSX is international speak for 4 valve head, again, 80 or 81. 81 was the last year for chrome air box cover on 1100 E models. Not sure if the 5 star...

    TCK's GS1100ESD Gixxer/Bandit mod thread...

Just Curious Just Curious Have you thought about the front wheel size and fender? The stock fender for a 19" wheel will have a larger radius than the intended 17" wheel to be installed. I'm sure the matching GSXR front fender will go on - would you paint it white (and like the way it looks?)...

Wrecked my GS on the freeway today... I'm OK!

Skyboy, The most important thing is that - not only are you and your friend alive to tell the story - and you're both in remarkable shape considering a high side at 55! And, your bike looks a lot better than I expected too. Yes, insurance companies all bite the big one - screw you any...

gs550 won't start... I am very sad... and need help!

A weak battery causes lots of issues, and using your horn as a test isn't a good check - they almost always sound like a sick cat. To measure is to know, as Nessism says - great advice. If your battery isn't putting out enough voltage, the coils can't do their job of sending spark to the plugs...

gs550 won't start... I am very sad... and need help!

These old GS's are cold-blooded, which means they need usually full choke to start, which will cause the engine to race to about 4,000 rpm or higher as soon as it starts. So, quickly back down the choke to about half way, more or less, whatever it takes, to keep the engine running at 2,000 -...

Laconia 08 - Who had the 83 Katana?

I went up on the second Saturday because it was such a nice day. As I was crossing the bridge at the Wiers heading North, I passed an 83 Katana. It was silver and red, so I assume it was a 750. I was on my 83 1100 ES. That was the only Kat I saw - come to think of it, that was the only GS I saw...
