Never see right voltage charging #'s with sh775 and Lithium

Thanks for the input, Okay m8 I'll have to take the 13.8 as it is lol. If it starts becoming problematic I have 2 more stators from known good bikes. one things for certain is that LifPo4 lithium have a circuit board built in to stop charging once charged so therefore I just went with AGM

1980 GS1100 (Square headlight) clutch never fully disengages

Yeah mate the clutch only operates properly when the lever is adjusted all the way out (no slack). I have a feeling the thick aftermarket fibers and combination of the HD springs is making this clutch not want to disengage properly. I used 3 hd and 3 oem springs that I squished with heat to...

Never see right voltage charging #'s with sh775 and Lithium

are you sure? i don't doubt you, but would like to see this on paper some how. The research i've done mentions that the SH775 specifically detects a full battery and throws the extra load to an open circuit. Another thing is if i charge my battery and run the charging test, she'll only show in...

1980 GS1100 (Square headlight) clutch never fully disengages

-I checked and sure enough the springs that were in there were extremely stiff! I put oem ones in there (red paint usually dabbed on the oem ones btw) and soaked the clutches in proper oil and now she behaves but the issue now is: the clutch line has to be completely adjusted to no slack making...

Never see right voltage charging #'s with sh775 and Lithium

Thanks!! Also p.s. I think it's important to mention that with an sh775 and probably along with other Mosfet rr's have built in feature to detect a charged battery and so will back off on voltage. So you won't see the 14.5v if the battery is fully charged.

Never see right voltage charging #'s with sh775 and Lithium

Good to know!!! do you know if SH775BA and other variants are series as well? are we still having to hunt these down via used polaris parts? or are they available on other platforms. I believe the SH775BA comes on 883 and 1200 sportsters. this would be good to know for availability

1980 GS1100 (Square headlight) clutch never fully disengages

-Thanks for that tip, i checked and it certainly is having its full range of motion. -Now this is the stuff that drives me nuts... i took the clutch out and inspected every single spring and clutch disc with a micrometer and before even doing so they all looked brand new. Sure enough they are...

1980 GS1100 (Square headlight) clutch never fully disengages

As the title states, no matter how i set the slack on the cable, when i pull in the clutch all the way in first gear and give gas, you can feel the bike lurch and try to move forward. This also makes finding neutral impossible unless you shut the bike off. Any quick plan of actions anyone can...

Never see right voltage charging #'s with sh775 and Lithium

SO to conclude this thread, the issue is I discovered that Lithium Batteries have this LiPo4 feature built into the circuit boards that sit on top of the battery cells= when the charge is full, it blocks or stops further charging of the batteries. So i guess you REALLY need to make sure you have...

Never see right voltage charging #'s with sh775 and Lithium

So I've been using these sh775 (confirmed oem/good used) before on these GS and lithium batteries, I never see the voltage go above 13v even at like 4500 rpm. Ive tried swapping out stators with known good ones and even new RICKS stators put in' and no matter what i do I can never see the golden...

    Forks leaking after new seals!

The inner bushings were shot on mine. As far as I know the only solution is to find another set of lower legs

    Brakes not building pressure

In regards to brake piston seal orientation there is a cupped / tapered end and a wide mouth end. I just did a caliper job for a friend's - owned since new- road king - which never had these serviced. and you can clearly harley davidson's factory put the wide mouth end of the seals outwards...

    Brakes not building pressure

That is a good video refresher! Just for clarity purposes - In this case the NO lever was caused due to a compromised seal that failed to hold hydraulic pressure

    Brakes not building pressure

Yeah I saw that red rubber grease offered in some brake kits. I'll probably still stay away considering I'm already going to get messy with dot fluid anyways and that's what all the old timers told me to use lol. I will have to experiment how that red grease reacts to brake fluid in a...

    Brakes not building pressure

-the piston seals being compromised -I went in so many circles with this darn job i have to say there were probably many factors to attribute to the issue, master cylinder and seals probably the biggest. And yes, the grease solidified and became really nasty goopy solidified brown stuff...

After carefully replacing the caliper piston seals the issue has been resolved. Thank you all!

    Brakes not building pressure

To my demise, I took one of the calipers off to move it around and check to see if that would bring any air bubbles, sure enough, the seal was leaking, I lifted the boot and saw it pooling. The other caliper the same. After disassembling them both while waiting on my new seals - I can confirm...

    Brakes not building pressure

-Stainless lines (can breathe through them fine) -literally brand new brembo master -bench bled the new master as stated above method (nice tip) -slide pins are greased! -vacuum pumped the lines and also did it the traditional way to make sure there's no air. -bled the master at the banjo...

    Brakes not building pressure

Back to square one, the master I originally used to build pressure didn't have a mirror perch. The pressure wasn't the greatest but it was definitely there. I switched to another one and had no luck. Fast forward to today, I put a brand new (in the package) brembo master cylinder for a bmw 310r...
