A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Alibaba's cave or Yves Pelletier's Barn

Yep :( I agree! He'd have most of that gone real quick! I'd plan a trip too but from Australia, I'd need to buy a shipping container load of parts to justify it lol

    opinions: K&P Engineering oil filters

Remembering also that increased flow doesn't automatically mean increased pressure either :-k I am aware that too high an oil pressure can have negative effects too.

    opinions: K&P Engineering oil filters

Thanks for the reply Ed, In Australia you certainly can't buy 20 original filters for $99!!! Actually you would be very lucky to be able to buy 5 for $99 from Aus. On ebay AU$6 each from China (no way I would touch them though) AU$12 from UK (again an unknown brand) AU$ 15 for a K&N...

    opinions: K&P Engineering oil filters

I was just randomly looking at some GS info and found this filter page from K AND P engineering. They claim that their filters have 7 times the flow of comparable paper oil filters, magnetic prefiltering, rated at 35 micron filtering. http://www.kandpengineering.com/s22.shtml Anyone had...

    Typical Air Pressures for Tires??

Win win then Don :) Im in central (coastal) Queensland and on my '77 GS750 with lasertec's I have found that 28-30psi front and 30-34psi rear was great :) On top of the 235kg of bike with fuel etc, I then sit myself @ around 100kg My local dealer advised me that I should run 36 front and...

    Typical Air Pressures for Tires??

27psi is fine in your front tyre! I know that it aint a bike but my HQ tonner ran 295/50/15's and only 18psi fully loaded around town and 20psi on highway and I got almost triple the k's that I did when running 30psi! More of a concern to me from my own personal experiences is that I would...

Thinking of changing to individual pod filters

probably wouldnt be worth the cost of postage. To post em from here (Australia) to USA would probably be more expensive than you could buy em for new over there, especially since the Au$ is stronger than the US$ at the moment.

Thinking of changing to individual pod filters

As I believe that I said earlier, hope you never have to ride in the rain  I just acquired an airbox for my 77 -GS750 so I will have a set of K&N's here to get rid of in about a week or 2 :)

    Is this legal in Australia???

Cant see why it would be legal Dave. So long as it meets noise regs which it should with dual mufflers.

Thinking of changing to individual pod filters

my best advice would be stick with the stock airbox and insert a K&N into that! I have owned several bikes with pods, and have changed them all back to original airboxes! Riding in rain will mean that the outside cylinders richen up like you have the choke on.... because when the water mist...

disconnect fuel line from carbys, turn fuel tap to ON position and if fuel comes out then the fuel tap needs replacing!

air hoses for GS750 with VM26ss to take GS850 airbox??

yep! around 30 years working on bikes and I found that most of them with an airbox have been so much easier to tune than those with pods. Even a few racers I know have gone back from pods to airbox, weather it was a stock airbox or custom fabbed. It is also so much more difficult to...

air hoses for GS750 with VM26ss to take GS850 airbox??

well I have had 3 types of K&N pod's on 3 different 4 cyl bikes now. Each of them were a **** to tune, each of them ran like pigs when in wet weather (due to the outer cyls getting water mist on them and basically restricting the airflow, therefore creating a rich or "choke" situation. They...

air hoses for GS750 with VM26ss to take GS850 airbox??

Good idea, I might just give that a go :) wonder if sheeting the inside or outside would be better though?? Yeah it is virtually impossible here in Australia, I have called loads of wreckers all over the country, they just simply dont exist  Yeah Coady, I looked into the rare one I do...

Why I hate to loan tools...

on the other hand, I have rarely borrowed tools from ANYONE, and the few times I have have borrowed something and returned it, ended up not too pleasant,,,,, I like to treat stuff nice, and if it is damaged or dirty then if I can, I repair things. One mate went off at me for fixing his drill...

air hoses for GS750 with VM26ss to take GS850 airbox??

Gday all, just wondering if anyone knows of a solution here. after searching and searching to find myself a GS750 airbox I was at a parts swapmeet and a mate pointed out an airbox from a GS850G and I bought it for $10 in the hope of fitting it up to my GS750B. The rubber boots are larger as it...

Really? I was of the belief (20 years in the brake and clutch industry) that and dot 3,4or 5.1 strip paint as they are glycol based, dot 5 wont though because it is silicone based.
