All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    The death of originality

Places such as he discussed still exist, though they have perhaps gone more grassroots. Indra's Awarehouse in Austin is such a place. The Full Moon Howl at the Barton Springs Pool in Austin is another example of a place for the creative spirits to gather. New Orleans is still a mecca for musical...

what did you wrench on today??

Got the tank off the BMW, have the fuel pump and filter off, cleaning some minor varnish from the bottom of the tank with vinegar/water right now. Taking the seat to the upholsterer this week. In the meantime, changed the cabin air filter on the Kia and topped off the AC after discovering a...

what did you wrench on today??

Digging into getting the BMW R1100R back on the road after a long while sitting at my brother's house. Replacing, among other things, fuel pump, injectors, all fuel lines (internal and external), fuel disconnects, the Hall Effect Sensor, brake lines, brake pads, tires, oil, filter, plugs...

    Just bought A Beemer

Welp, I sold the Harley last week. My brother decided to focus on his KLR 650, so he gave the R1100R back to me. I'm setting up to do a bunch of stuff to it, as it will be an only bike for a while.

    Isle of Man TT 2026

I love the TT. Definitely risky, but that is part of what makes it legendary.

    Isle of Man TT 2026

I will admit, I didn't know it was on. I used to follow a few of the more interesting motorsports, including the TT (and IMSA, and WRC), but over the past couple of decades, I really fell away from it all.

Just glad you came out reasonably whole and that the bike isn't too bad.

    Great car site

Some of the absolute best products any of the big three ever created were thanks to individuals who did know better than the factory. To wit, Shelby, Yenko, Gurney, Miller, etc., with modern presences like the Church Brothers, McCandless, Ashton, etc., all making big contributions.

Several restomods of those are amazing. This one has an 800 hp blown LS3, C7 suspension and air conditioning.

    RIP Mert Lawwill

Man, he was a treasure. My dad took me and my brother to see On Any Sunday when it was re-released at the drive-in circa 1976. His work on suspension systems was groundbreaking.

THIS is a big step forward

I'm no fan of the permastoned culture that now regales my senses when I'm behind some stoner's Camry and he pulls away from a stoplight as a cloud of THC blows out of his window, but I'm also very much against banning things like that because I think people should have a right to smoke it even...

THIS is a big step forward

I maintain that it is a slippery slope. If the government were to determine that alcohol was similarly hazardous and then to ban it in perpetuity for citizens born after 2009, despite the real fact of declining alcohol consumption among that very age segment, I would take the side of the citizen...

    How to buy a wife

Turkey is historically infamous for having stolen the most beautiful woman in the world for a prince to wed, so this seems to be in line with the mythology.
