A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Harbor Freight MC tire changer + mods = awesome !

The best mod you can do is ditch the useless center tube (too large to fit through any wheel with bearings installed) and convert to accept a 3/4-10 stud. Many MC bearing id's are 19mm which will will slip over a 3/4" rod. I welded a 3/4-10 nut to the base and all my attatchments work around a...

Harbor Freight MC tire changer + mods = awesome !

So like anything out of the box Harbor Freight it's "good enough" to get the job done but expect some F bombs . Bought the HF tire changer and I bought the Ebay "Stark" motorcycle tire changer. Now pay CLOSE ATTENTION to my next comments so if you choose to buy these you don't go through the...

    1998 CBR900RR Fireblade

Turning a small profit I totally believe to be true, maybe an occasional good profit could happen if you nailed perfect timing at both buying and selling, but a claimed "100% profit on every restored bike" sorry, i'm callin' BS.

    1998 CBR900RR Fireblade

Good for you for finding ton's of suckers both at the buying and selling end of flipping sport bikes. I speak from my experiences of OEM restoring to original excellent clean condition a 1984 GPz1100, a 1987 GSXR 750 , and most recently (NOT oem) a 1973 Kawi H1. You ALWAYS end up spending more...

    1998 CBR900RR Fireblade

Attempting to restore a sportbike gets VERY expensive real quick. I learned this oem restoring a 1990 ZX10. I even got oem parts at dealer cost and i ended up spending $3k on a $2k value bike. If you oem restore do it for personal passion not from an investment perspective.

Just when I think i'm out, they drag me back in.....

Well, the H1 resto is just about done. I've had a miriad of engine running issues but over the past month finally got them all sorted out. Thank god for my past 2 stroke experience back in the 90's with snowmobiles. A guy with 4 stroke only or minimal 2 stroke experience will be in for a harsh...

Just when I think i'm out, they drag me back in.....

Isn't this usually the case ? LOL , every time I would replace a piece of "not so nice" chrome with a new reproduction part, it then makes every other original "not so nice" piece of chrome look lousy !

Just when I think i'm out, they drag me back in.....

Those are actually Bill Wriges pipes, he was know for building slightly quieter pipes. Not sure what to expect. I like the racy 2s triple "ping, ping, ping" but don't want them too loud.

Just when I think i'm out, they drag me back in.....

Here's a few update pics : Bought a complete 1973 correct body set from Paul Miller (whom is actually more into restoring 2S Suzukis) Pipes all media blasted and refinished : Here's detailed long version of my resto , GREAT bunch of helpful and funny guys over at KTOG ...

    1981 Kawasaki KZ750 Resurrection

For some reason my '84 GPz1100 seems to have a notchy feeling gearbox. Not sure if this has anything to do with straight cut gears vs. a GS , It also seems that my GPz's gear shift throw feels longer than my GS1100E. Gotta' give credit to Suzuki gearboxes, they shift very smooth and quick. Even...

Just when I think i'm out, they drag me back in.....

The bike didn't come with the OEM exhaust, it came with Denco street chambers, and the airbox is missing. I have some Uni Filter pods on order. Who ever stored this engine did and excellent job. The carbs were reasonably clean, and the crankcases were filled with oil. A peek at the piston skirts...

Just when I think i'm out, they drag me back in.....

Started the teardown and accesment. It needs a lot of work and many parts to be road safe. The very strange issue with this bike is the frame is coded for 1973, yet the engine and all electrics are 1974 ? I've been having a very confusing time identifying this situation. The members over at...

Just when I think i'm out, they drag me back in.....

The chassis is a substantial limiting factor. The swingarm is bushings, no bearings. The chassis geometry is not the greatest , unwanted flex and so on. The sweet racy sound on these antique triples with a nice set of aftermarket tuned street chambers is like NO other ! This is a keeper. I have...

Just when I think i'm out, they drag me back in.....

1973 Kawasaki H1. It's surprisingly complete, but the strange is the fact it has a 1974 dated engine. I've actually been looking for one of these for quite some time but they seem to be either $500 clapped out "bikes in a box", or $7000 mint restored ones. Bought this barn find off a guy I raced...
