A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

The NEW forum software is here!

Thanks for all your efforts, it's not something I would care to deal with mainly due to my poor keyboarding skills! As to searches, why are you including this feature as in why don't you let the big boys take care of that? I've not messed with it but there has to be a Boolean expression that...

Teenage group NAILS a Supertramp cover

And yet another young musician at the top of his game, in this case it's an 18 year old drummer backing up an acoustic version of King Crimson's title release of Discipline with both guitar parts and the bass being handled by another player (multi track recorded). The drummer is reading from...

Here's another Traverse City product, Don did one hell of a job mentoring this kid musically and helping him get his act cleaned up to become one of his biggest names in bluegrass today! https://youtu.be/V2RHZHHOq04?si=FkdHJ7fVBxrSK73O And another https://youtu.be/QI7eNVlOcu8?si=ZBP0V9_TPlLn8PNo

Teenage group NAILS a Supertramp cover

Here's a group of young folks from my former home town, Traverse City, Mi that my daughter knew and went to public school with for a year. The orchestra teacher there is a top notch lady and inspired a lot of great musicians, including my daughter who ended up tutoring the bass player of this...

    Z Max Dragway

I've been to that track, actually the last time I was there was the last time I was at a drag race. They had a vintage bike drag event on Saturday afternoon but the locals where running cars Friday night and Saturday morning, all 1/4 mile except for the top fuel cars which ran the 1/8th. My best...

    Z Max Dragway

I'd never seen four lane drags until recently, looks like it might be worth checking out in person. As to varying lengths 990 ft would be exactly half way between an 1/8 and 1/4 mile, or 3/16 of a mile. 1000 feet is 25/132 of a mile. Only old people know how fractions work! Someone just set a...

The oil shock is about to hit America

Here's another well researched and presented piece to go along with the video that started the thread. It does a really good job at out lining Irans military tactics and capabilities as it applies to keeping the straight of Hormuz closed and expands on the economic fallout described in the first...

THIS is a big step forward

That's the thing that irks me the most about that crowd, they seems to believe that since it's less harmful than it means it's completely harmless. When Michigan was getting medical use on the ballot in 2008 I became a pariah amongst the activists for suggesting they start acting like adults...

THIS is a big step forward

At 63 I'm still required to show a valid ID when I buy my bulk tobacco and rolling papers at Dollar General, many times they scan the bar code on the back to verify it. The employees say it's a very strictly enforced company policy in which case I usually reply "I've got a bong that's older than...

THIS is a big step forward

I was buying cigarettes at age 13 and never had a problem. During COVID I couldn't buy them due to my drivers license being expired! Last summer I bought a 1/4lb of pot at a dispensary on the Seneca reservation as a favor for a friend in Philly (cheap) without showing an ID.

The oil shock is about to hit America

It's usually the "What ifs" that instill the most doubt but the basic fact remains. If you abruptly take between 8% to 13% of the supply of anything out of the market then the down stream effects are bound to be severe. If the price of beef goes up you can switch to pork or chicken without much...

The oil shock is about to hit America

Here's a very well presented and level headed look at the current situation with global oil prices and how it will soon be affecting The U.S. My best bet is that the usual suspects will see to it that this thread decays into something that'll be moved into The Vortex, in the meantime the fully...

    Landmark moment in music!

That was the point all along, great musicians getting credit for what they're doing despite whether or not you think the music is "good" I liken it to the folks in the lowrider car community, personally I think what they do is totally ridiculous but have the utmost respect for the painters and...

I'm not sure if you're familiar with bassist Charles Berthoud but he covers a few different Angine de Poitrine pieces on a fretless bass, check him out on YouTube, even HE can't quite hit it on the nose! https://youtu.be/yzMymjfwTgI?si=NWMAF1EGE5IXE92f

The Microtonal aspect was explained in the post that started this thread. Also the fact that this is very much an Avant Garde act was also explained.
