DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Well, what's your opinion of the Kat for a rider? Many seem to think the best thing about the Kat is their uniqueness, I never remember anybody, even back in their day, liking them for their comfort. Wondering if you'll ever find an OEM exhaust?.. I never knew how, but the two 1000 Kats around...

what did you wrench on today??

Yep, the L eng & non OEM seat rail were the first things I noticed. Still pretty O.K. You do know that eng. has a little more up-hill power, Suzuki did that on purpose cause the "L" 's, with their tall front end & lower back end will always be going up-hill

Obvious the kit means nothing to you, but maybe somebody else reading the thread may find helpful. Your project, glad you're doing what is best for you. You got that GS850 looking pretty good, Like said keep up the good work.

I found NOS points cover and emblem and gasket

Yep, can sure do it that way, just be sure of length, a little too long or too short, or wrong thread can cause problems before you realize it. See you chose allen heads, good choice. Just me I always picked the hex heads... Keep up the good work,

I found NOS points cover and emblem and gasket

Not sure if still available nor who they were but in the past you could put in your model bike and order a complete set of either hex or allen head bolts to replace those dreaded Phillips (JIS)... Gosh that was handy.

Shoot, think I'll vote for Baatfam this week, just cause we have a building very similar on Hwy 96, just south of Center Hill Dam, but I've never seen a large canary in front of ours.

Hanging Idle (I know, but bear with me) and different carbs

To your question in post # 41, your carbs will never be able to pull fuel out faster than a properly operating pet cock will let fuel in.

1981 Suzuki GS1100E For Sale on eBay - Not Mine

You never know, "81" with "80" colors installed or "80" thought to be an "81". Unless I forgot our "80"'s were red or silver, our "81"'s were blue or black.... No doubt, I've been wrong before.

Doesn't look like an "81" GS1100E, but I miss a lot of stuff... nice looking bike at a reasonable price at this time.

#3 cylinder pipe cold and oil leaking from #3 cylinder

I don't think I've heard of oil spewing out dripping fast on the ground from where you're say'in. It's been a long time but I was thinking there should be a gasket in there, on the cross0over, under the clamp to keep exhaust from leaking. For me would seem more reasonable to see oil out the back...
