A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

The views expressed in this forum are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of "The GSResources" or the editors.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

$10 spy camera

What or how is the best way to fit it to the bike for a stable picture when riding?

The idea was to stick the camera on or inside your helmet. I'm not sure where I'd put it on the bike though.... Not even sure how lol. Maybe velcro it somewhere?

I tried it from a small bracket i made, but it needs some vibration dampening and I was just wondering if someone has already found a workable solution
I have a Windjammer and the camera is not above the windshield if fixed to the helmet.

Is that your riding experience?IMHO that is what these helmet cams would show. But what do I know?

Just ordered one of these bad boys and even if it turns out to be a POS, $10 with free shipping, no loss.

I've given up on them. They may be great value for money but they aren't doing what I want. I need a little bit of consistency and I can't get one of the six I still have, to do the job. It's Hopeless when the same unit runs for differing lengths of time (times range between 2 to 60 minutes with most less than 15 minutes)

Looks like I got a bad batch:(
If they're that inconsistent, you might want to experiment with cracking one open and replacing the tiny battery with a small cable and external jack that would allow you to plug in a remote battery pack (you would make, of course). The advantage is, you could use regular or rechargeable batteries, and the run time would be many hours, only limited by the size of your memory card. Obviously not as convenient as a self contained solution, but a small external pack could easily fit in a shirt pocket with a short run of cable up to the camera (assuming it's mounted in the helmet).

Worth a try as long as you have them to fool around with...

Regards,

Got the micro sd card yesterday.Give it a try today. Will use BassCliff's mounting idea.

Not bad for $10. Yosemite is beautiful. I've always wanted to go there....some day. My camera has been on backorder for over a month due to some factory issues. Now I can't wait for it to get here.

Thanks for sharing. I think we are going to need to start a video thread.

Good stuff.

I got 10 of them and not one of them has anything like the picture quality of those videos.

Great videos!

Since they won't ship to Norway, would any of you be freight forwarder for me? I'd pay up front (by Paypal, preferably) with change to spare... ;)

You'd have to order one to arrive at your place, and then ship it to me. That involves taking it to a post office, filling in a form with sender and receiver, plus contents and value.

Anyone?
