All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Over the winter I picked up an '82 GS1100 GK on line for $500. Because much of the original bike was either gone or beyond repair, I decided to sport it up a bit. Took the air box out and replaced it with APE air filters. Bike starts but fuel pours out of the bottom right hole of each carb. Checked the floats, they seem fine. I'm new to Suzukis and wondering if it could be the line that comes from the center of the carbs (between 2 and 3). I think it used to be connected to the air box. Any ideas would be appreciated. The bike seems to run fine until it floods out.

You have a 29 year old vehicle that needs maintenance. A full carb rebuild is in order with new O-rings for both the carbs and the intake boots. There are countless threads in the archives on what to do. Another thing is your carbs need to be rejetted now that you removed the airbox. A Dynojet kit costs about $115 and will get you most of the way there. You could have saved near $200 by keeping the stock airbox in place.

Welcome. If you want to see a GK "sported up" a bit check out some of my threads. Im going the same direction. In "appearance" check out "time to make it my own" and in "carb/fuel/exhaust" check out "requested exhaust pics" both should be on the first or second page

Thanks. you know I just checked out the apprearance site and looked at some of your handy work. Nice sound. I put a MAC exhaust on mine.

You know, I sheepishly found the solution. Mike10 had the same exact problem....hooked the fuel to the vent lines. Geez, so did I. We'll fix it up after work tomorrow.

Thanks, love the site and I like working on the old Suzuki. I'll post some pics when i get 'er running like it should.
