1150 fairing on a GS 1000

I want to add a frame-mount 1150 fairing on my 1979 GS 1000. I've looked at the exploded diagrams on Alpha-Sport, but am having a hard time seeing how the fairing mounts. Anybody done this mod, or have any idea if or how I can mount this?

The fairing stay attaches at the steering head and the frame just below the tank. I have a pretty much complete set, the only thing missing are the small side panels which are available from Airtech. If you interested in it I can take pictures for you. I have a brand new Zero Gravity windscreen for it in a light blue tint that is still in the packaging. I even have the proper headlight for it.

Hello Billy.
I'm in the process of converting my 1150 E to and ES...
I've found the understructure and the fairing, but the windshield was broken...Are they still available from Zero Gravity?!?
That would be great news.
If sax isn't interested in the parts you have...I might be.
I'm still looking for the Shorter handlebar risers for an ES also.
Thanks,
ED

ZG does still have them in a variety of tints.

I wonder if an 1150ES set up would work on an 1100E/ES?? Id like to get a hold of one and give it a shot. I LOVE that fairing design...

Several have done it. It was going to mount up just fine on my 700, I just decided to stay naked.

Thanks Guys for the info on the windshield...
That helps a bunch...NOW...If I can find the handlebar risers!!!
Been watching E-bay etc.

Do you know the diameter of the forks? If they are 37mm you can watch for some GS700ES or '83 GS750ES risers.

Thanks for the info, Billy. I have a fairing on the way from Frankenzuki, which has all the mounting hardware, fairing, and MAYBE a windshield. So, anybody who wants Billy's fairing, go for it!

I'll have to check the DIA...it's a bit of a strange setup for the risers.
There's a pair for an E on E-bay now.
Hoping someone here might have a set lying around.
What all bits and pieces do you have for the fairing?
Since Sax has one on the way...I might be interested in your.
The one I picked up is in So-So conditon.
Would love to find one of the optional chin pieces too.
Thanks,
Ed

Only thing missing on my set is the side panels. I have the headlight for the ES too. I might have to do a little digging for the fasteners.

Cool...
Someone drilled a few holes in my inner liner...It could be fixed, but would rather have a good one...the hardware would be nice as well.
Got a good frame and headlight, but I'm sure someone could use the extra.
Send me a PM...
Thanks,
ED

One other thing I don't have is the mirrors. First chance I get I'll take some pictures and PM them to you.

Here's a set of 700 ES risers. Supposedly the 1150 fork is 37mm so chances are these will work.

Hey Billy...
Thanks for the info! I'm going to drop him a line...those look like E bars not ES. They look to be the some height as the ones on my E.

I have a pair of 1150 bars and a fairing frame for mounting if interested.
