    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

1150 head on an 1100 block

Has anybody tried to put a 1150 cyclinder head on an 1100 block? I'm in the process of putting one together, and the only thing that I know for sure is that the studs are different lengths. The base motor is a 16 valve gsx 1100 with weisco 1133 pistons with an 1100 block. My only concern is the that the compression ratio might fall below 9:1 which would defeat the purpose of this mod altogether. Any ideas??
 
I never check the cc's between the two, but just looking at them both side by side I can't see much of a differance. I just replace the 6 shorter studs with 1150 ones and open face nuts. You'll also loose your tach since it's gear driven.
 
I'm running an 1150 head. It's basically unported. I did touch up the short side radius and put in ss valves. I ran faster after putting it on and will never go back to the 1100 head. They flow better stock than the 1100 head. And you can see it's bigger just by looking at it.

I never heard it was lower in compression. I guess if it was you could mill about 10thou off to make up for it.
 
Well if my 750 head works as good as I think it will, Ryan might just be swapping heads again later this year :lol:
 
These guys covered it pretty good. One thing to add, there is a small bolt on the two outsides of the 1100 head that are not there on the 1150. I have heard of having the 1150 heads machined to use this bolt to help prevent leaking.

I hope the new head works so good that you and Ryan will part with your old ones!! LOL
 
There will be NO difference in compression as the combustion chambers are the same size. If you want REAL power I can show/ tell you what to do to put a GSXR head on! Ray.
