As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

hi guys, greetings! am new to this community and has lots of questions ...

I have a 1978 GS550, I am planing to swop both front and rear to 19", I know that is not the most practical decision to make but I had already bought my tires, so no turning back ...

So as you would have expected, now I have problem looking for rims, I wanted a pair of H type high shoulder rims, with 19 x 2.15 front and back.

There are motorcross rims that is 19 x 2.15 x 36 spokes, but does that means they will fit my GS550 stock hub without a problem? what should I check before I make my purchase?

here's a picture of my humble bike ...

Thanks!

nice looking bike especially the paint. Where are you located?

If the spoke count is the same, I "think" all that will need to change will be the spoke length and nipples.

Curious about how this will end up looking, can you keep us posted?

And welcome to the forum!

Mike's XS has decent prices on rims and spokes, although I'm not sure if the spokes will be the right length for use with a GS hub. http://www.mikesxs.net/products-56.html#products
At the end of the day, you are talking about a lot of expense ($350 minimum) for a fairly minor change. You sure it's worth it?

hi mr. posplayr, nice to meet you! and thank you for the good words! I am from Malaysia, what about you? that was the picture of the bike when i first got it, it is undergoing quite a drastic modification though, here's a sketch for my plan. :)

Thank you musicman for the warm welcome!

Regarding the fitment of spokes, I thought as long as the spoke count is the same, the rim will be able to fit the hub. But someone told me the angles of the spoke holes on the rim can be different ... which is something I need to find out.

The person told me the angles needed are as follow:
C?, D?, E?, and F? ... which I couldn't find out because I'm not quite sure how to do it ... can anybody help? =)

but then again i am not sure ... if any 36 spoke wheels can fit 36 spoke hub, then i'll just get any...

And for sure buddy i'll keep the post updated, still lots of work to be done! =)

Hey Nessim, thanks so much for the infos! really appreciate it! yeah I found Mike's XS too, I wanted a H type rims so I found him, decent price indeed! but then again i'm not sure if it will fit GS550 stock hubs?

Also, question about spokes, are the spokes all universal with a buffer length or i'll have to get very specific spokes?

it's really tough ... I wish they would had made things simpler ... why can't they standardize these technical details?
