If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

1977 gs750B jets

  • Thread starter Thread starter HighCountryGS
  • Start date Start date
Stock mains are either 100 or 102.5 depending on the year, pilots are 15.
If you run bigger jets for no reason it will run like crap.

My '77 GS750B originally had the 102.5 main and 15 pilot jets :) I know because when I bought the bike they were in a bag in the tray under the seat lol

I also think it depended on location (country?) because there are other things to consider such as emissions requirements, laws, altitude etc.

Highway..heres where i wound up with my same problems. I got the 100 mains jets and the 15 pilot jets today. Man what a difference. Look at the thread Carb mechanic wanted that i started. I was 100 % sure imwould never be able to get them done myself. The final steup as i have them right now are there..Be advised your bike is its own animal but i think the final settings will be of value to you..Hope it ends well for you too. Beusre to run a wir thru all the little holes in the emullsion tube s too.mine had a bit or crud in them.

Hey thanks. I have been following your thread to see what you ended up with. Where did you get your jets from? Z1?

Yes Z1..they are a greaqt place and they get stuff out and in your hands FAST.. 3 days in my case. and in the bike tonight . It took a lot of knocking buy the guys to get it all through my thick stubborn German skull ..

Do you happen to have the parts numbers or link? I was browsing their website last night and i saw the pilots but did'nt see the mains.

Mikuni LG round main jets # 100 Part number KL18-372-1.. 7.00 FOR 4 JETS
#15 Pilot jet Part number TU42-6170-1..10.84 FOR 4 JETS
TOTAL OF THE ORDER...24.84 INCLUDES SHIPPING

Dont thank me for anything but the parts number.. the guys that put up with my crazy azz get all the kudos on this one!!!

Highway..bring those carbs to my place..i wil have then done on an hr..im an expert now !! LMAO Not that theres funny!!!!!

Hey Chuck, forgive me for my stupidity, but the main jets pictured on Z1's website look way different then mine. Which may be ok i guess that why i am asking. My 107.5 that are currently in there ressemble the pilot jets in they are longer and have the tiny holes drilled in the bottom.

That tube is the emulsion tube..look at the end..see the thing with the screwdriver slot? hold the nut with the wrench and remove the jet from the tube. take a small wire and poke out all those holes and rinse in some carbs spray and then blow out with your compressor.

Ah i see. I already poked out all the little holes. And i just ordered the correct jets.

Got them off the tube then..i am assuming....whats the conditions of the orings on the tubes? Did you getb the oring kit from Cycleorings? It has all the orings for the entire carb rebuilds.

Yeah I ordered the the kit from them. When i took the carbs apart they were missing half of the o-rings and the other half crumbled. They defintaely needed to be replaced. This bike should love me when i get finished. lol

Speaking of carbs I have 125 main jets with the need up one notch and i'm a little on the rich side I'm thinking about taking my muffler off (4 to 1 exhaust & pods). I have 127 jets would I be ok? I just want more side clearance. Can I just get a baffle to replace the megaphone muffler? Also, I'm taking the bike out to California.

BTW my bike came with 102.5 main and 15 pilot jets.
