Better still lemme seen the bowls. Can you access the main jet through the drain plug?

Returning Visitors
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I don't believe that you can. the drain plug is at such an angle that you could't access it.
Just a few post up he said they measured 26 MM. He called ma last night and i told him where to measure them..I am confident he got it right. Maybe a pic of them all put back together and on the rack would be helpful. The jets and bottom screw are still in the open so mounting wouldnt hurt anything at this point.

Yes..at least the mounting will be out of the way so when you get an answer you can just carry on from there..if the news is good then fine. Then you know whats up ..
The round hole on the lower left side of the picture would have to an air jet installed in it.
do you see a brass orifice in the small round hole that may or may not have a screw driver slot in it?

There seems to be a small hole in there, but i dont think its a brass jet. Both of the lower holes look the same.
Depending on the size of the hole, it should work. all the air screw does is make an effective 'variable' orifice. are there any identifying stampings around the flange where the float bowl meets the body. I didn't see any in your pictures. if there are any marks, it would help to find out what they are off of.
I didn't read the complete thread. what size are the pilot jets in those carbs?\

Did you double check the throat diameter Andrew? What gets me is where do you adjust ( tune ) the air to fuel mixture....
Dael..To sum it up shortly..He ws having the same basic problems i was having and was kinda mirroring my thread and getting his 77 up to snuff. Then he posted about where is the air screws. I told him to call and we talked for a bit. I told himm where to measure to be sure they were 26mm. Then he posted pics for me to see and i was stumped cuz that doesnt look like the 26s we are all used to dealing with.. I was wondering if they are real early model 26s and the ones we have ..having the SS added after the VM 26 ( vm26 "SS" ) is why they are different..

The jets that were in there when i opened them up were 107.5 mains and 17.5 pilots. The jets have the Mikuni stamp on them.

I'll go out on a limb and say you have a mid 70's set of Kawasaki carbs. possibly from the KZ750~900 models?

KZ model were two strokers..not 4 stroke
KH is a 2 stroke.
Yeah youre right.. thats what a guy had when we were kids. 2 stroke 500. I remember that sound. that was probably 35 years ago. And as i remeber the bike was pretty fast too..at least i thought it was.
So what does Andrew need to do to get the bike squared away? Can those carbs be used on a zuke if they are indeed kaw carbs? I am asking just for the educational aspect here.
It depends on which needles, slide cutouts, needle jet are installed and whether or not the orifices allow the proper amount of air needed for the idle circuit.

Well like i told hiom the other night, At least the VM26s we all know are readily available and not all that expensive..if he decides its bet to go that route.

I will have to look for some kind of carb ID when I get home. I really hope these will work in the bike. But like you said chuck I guess I could buy the correct ones from someone on here, but I don't want to spend money on them if the ones I have will work.
