DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I have a UK 1977 GS750D with spoked wheels and twin front discs.

I'm rebuilding the forks and some things aren't adding up.

Here's a model of how my forks legs, with components identified, were when I stripped them.

Section View.jpg

Problems I'm having are:

The thin lower oil seal is not shown or identified on any part list.

The steel seal spacer (in red) is not shown on the UK parts list, but it maybe shown on the USA parts list where two of them are used.

The slider bearing is not shown on any parts list.

So, what forks do I have and are they the forks that should be on my bike?

Hi, I know you list your bike as a uk model are you sure it is or could it have been imported? I have looked on Robinsons Foundry web site for a uk model it does not seem to fit your drawing https://www.robinsonsfoundry.co.uk/...nder/gs/gs750/gs750b-db-1977.htm#!gs750bforks

the links build up is pretty much like the gs850 forks as you say the slider bush is not listed I did find a link which I think is a Honda part but also listed as a gs750 part but you would have to take measurements to be sure.

I just went through this while rebuilding my forks. My 1978 GS750EC forks have the same setup as in your diagram. I ended up reusing the thin oil seal and steel washer/spacer.

The part shown on the OEM parts diagram (51168-30B00) is NOT the same as the washer/spacer in our forks. Our washer/spacer is thinner than 51168-30B00.

Pics coming in the next day or so.
