    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I noticed pryor on the valve cover the previous owner had a small amount of what looks to be JB Weld over a small crack , well the reason for me taking the valve cover off was, one ..new bike lets check the valve shims to see if everything is in speck and two .. I noticed the crack had run a little further from where he put the jb weld and the valve cover was leaking from the area that didnt have jb weld on it ..
So here is my question ? Whats your opinion on jb weld on an aluminum valve cover , & or is there a better product on the market ?
& would a thin layer of JB weld be fine on the inside of valve cover ?
Open to suggestions here ....
 
Crack is approx 1 1/4 " long .. and like I said oil was leaking from where the crack had spread .. it did appear as though the repair the previos owner did did seal the crack and it wasnt leaking from area
 
Exterior side . Showing the repair previous owner did .. but if you look closely you can see where crack ran another 1/2"
 
JB weld is fine for the repair You may want to drill a small hole at the end of the crack so it does not spread any further. Just a 1/16th in hole at the very end then fill the hole with jbweld also
 
Never used jb weld before would you recommend athick coat orcan it be applied thin andbe successfull ? And would you recommend applying inside andoutside of valve cover ?? And there should beenough clearance on the inside ?

Approx how much would that cost ? And Iim in mississauga ontario canada .dont know how much shipping would cost .. but that definitely may be the rt I need to go !! .
It is a small crack , may just give the jb weld a shot first.. but greatly appreciated :)

I so love this bike and cant wait to get it on the road !! Took it for a ride last week and she is a rocket !! Lol

Do you think using a dremil tool and just grinding a small groove on the interior side of cover before applyingthe jb weld would be better ? Rather then applyingto a smooth surface
