I will get it running,post pictures as I go.Ya'll will probably say I posted them wrong.This bike sat for 12 years in a garage.I bought 2 more today for parts.
1.plans:buy a battery
2.pour a tablespoon of oil down each sparkplug hole.Let that soak in 24 hours.
3.Take vinegar and bb's to the tank.repeat several times
4.loosen float bowl screws,drain out any gas.I figure its all dried up or has turned into jelly in the carbs.
5.Use nessisms guide for cleaning.May I use his guide on the honda forum?
6.of course drain and change oil and filters.
7.Use my new mightyvac and change out brake fluid.
8.once running do cosmetics,tires,etc.
9.Wait till I get it right before posting progress photos here.I paid $175 for it.

havent had much time.I do know my motor is locked up.I have another engine.I am going to get this motor out in the next 3 days.it is out of gear,the bike rolls easily.The brakes are not connected,not locking up the motor.I put a mix of auto trans fluid and acetone down the sparkplug holes, waited 3 days,motor still wont turn over.I have the valve covers off.Not going to pull the head or cylinders since I am going to remove the engine.Its like a gs,the work can be done while in the frame,but it is more difficult.On the 1 gs 1000 I worked on it would not turn over, and I found the front cam chain tensioner had slipped out of place and was binding up the crank.This bike is a sohc,has a tensioner also, but i have not got far enough to know for sure what is wrong.It sat in a garage 23 years, so i suspect the rings are rusted to the cylinder walls.

If there is one bike that could epitomize the UJM phenomenon from 1976-1982, this bike is it.

Take the Honda badges off, and that right there is "generabike".
