1980 GS1000 switch control pics please

Should be receiving first batch next week sometime. Will scour previous posts and let everyone know where/when/how to send $.

Maybe I should have ordered more than 20 sets. :-k

Here, Ill save you the trouble.
Nice work, Frank, how much for a set?

Put me down for a possible FIVE sets.
Since they appear to have two sets per card:
Please let me know where to send the money to (pre)pay for three cards.

Nice work Frank, you have done a good thing here, plenti gratitude to you.
Pity my lights have the on/off switch on the right side....damn :(

While you are about it, any chance of a set of gauge decals in clear, I have no doubt, the queue would be just as long.

Stan...myself anf Frank had just had a good phone chat about exactly that. I proposed the clear decals for the 77 and 78 750s as I have a set of each guages to use as templates. And Frank..May want them to send you 5 or 6 cards with just a bunch of ignition switches because they will go on a good many bikes as well. Cut them off the cards per order to ship. Myself i would need 5 ignition switch decals.

Stan, If I remember correctly, someone has already made those decals you are referring to.

okay, as long as people are putting in requests for various decals, how about making the ones found on the chain guards. ;) ;)

here is a picture of a 1978 GS1000E fork decal.

for scaling purposes the decal is 58mm's high by 76mm's wide.

Rudy ..He was on here some time ago and was the guy that was doing the guage faces..Havent heard hide nor hair of him in a long time.

Well, I just received first batch of decals today. The fit is spot on... but the finish is not was i was hoping for. Decals are too darn glossy with the laminate overlay.:( Will try to source matte finish laminate next, to better match the dull finish on the switch housings.

That said, if anyone still wants a set, I'll be happy to let a set go for $5.50 just to recoup my out-of-pocket. I have 19 sets; the 2-sets per card thing didn't work.

Now, back to the @%&! drawing board.

I'll take two sets. You can PM me the details of paypal and all that.

I dont think they are all that bad really...and if you dyed or repaint the housings before adding the decals they may very well be perfect!!

At $5.50 that decal for the ignition cylinder is worth the price of admission to me. so put me down for a set and let me know where to send the funds.

Why not a laser cut stencil what lays on the old switch, followed by some white spray paint? Would be simple and match the original look exactly.:)

I said I was in, so I am in, paypal and I will get the cash off to you right away.

Ed, you read my mind, the reason I want a set is to use as a stencil to paint the graphics on, as per OEM.:D
The instrument shop here at the airport does lazer engraving to minute detail, going to give them the decals to use as a template.

Very interesting idea, Ed. Wonder how one would go about securing the negative space within the letters... such as the triangle in the letter "A"? I suppose instead of a typical stencil setup, a reversed out transfer decal could be applied, painted, then removed. Will look into it!
