A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Wider rims

Wider rims

I'd figure 18x2.50 as the widest front rim. Don't go too wide on the tire itself as the profile will change if it doesn't match the rim width. If you want to go much bigger on the front, plan on a wider front end such as one from an 1150 or any of the GSXRs. A 3.5" rim and 120mm wide tire are then possible.

Rear rim max width depends...

If you maintain the stock chain offset, figure 3.5" to 4.0" for the rim. You will probably want a 150/70 max for the tire. You will have to modify the brake arm or replace it with a piece of flat steel or aluminum.

If you are willing to go 5/8" offset (front sprockets are available off the shelf), you can go to a 5.5" wide rim. 5.5" is stock size for most sport bikes. The wider rims place the rear sprocket at what is close to the 5/8" offset front sprocket.

The GS1100 swingarm may require you to bend or remove a portion of the triangular tubing bracket that mounts the passenger footpegs.

I have pictures showing all that I have said, but I am allowed to post only one of them. Contact me at:

zuki.mike@snet.net for more info or more pix.

I have the entire setup you are looking for FOR SALE:

One front wire wheel, 19 x 2.5" with 3.50" tire
One rear wire wheel, 18 x 3.5" with 140mm tire
One modified brake stay arm
One GS1100 aluminum swingarm
One pair Fox rear shocks (not on your list)

This setup does not require the offset sprocket setup. $600 + actual shipping for all. I can take PayPal, money order, etc. Located in CT if you would like to see these parts and/or pick them up.

Thanks Keith, hey give me a break!!!!!! Differant time zone LOL. Well i better post the standard pic and reply. Front rim is a original Suzuki rear rim ( 2.50x18 ) and the rear is a Akront ( 4.25x18 ) and as you can see if you put 17" wheels on a old bike like my brothers is just looks a tad wierd. Running a Bridgestone BT45 140/80x18 tyre and a Avon AM22 110/80X18 front at the moment. I run a DID 630 chain as i get 50,000 klms out of the last one and cant find any reason to use a smaller chain as weight is almost the same (530 uses more links) and once again it just doesnt look right. Front guard is a GS550 ESD one that is a 18incher. Need more info send me a pm if you like. And can you believe my brother sold the Kat foe a GSX1400 and turned it into a bling/bling thingy, Arghhhhhhhhhh P.S. Sit down when you ask for the price on the rims.
