All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

1980 GS850G Bobber Project, another one!

Hi,

Hmmm, that's a 1980 model? I see it has VM carbs but no kick start. :-k

It just struck me odd. That's all. Carry on.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Did a little fabrication this weekend...

Polished with toothpaste and mah fingahs... I also drilled out the petcock for more flow.
IMG_0557.jpg

Gastank tapped, petcock installed, brkts for fender formed, seat pan shaped, and that shiny perforated stuff is from my washing machine. going to wrap the seat pan with it...
IMG_0562.jpg

Seat pan brkt made & mounted, Grabbed some springs from Lowes, they are for a porch swing, 300lb rating, and cheap. Worth a shot.
IMG_0563.jpg

Seat brkts fabbed and tacked in place..
IMG_0564.jpg

Rear frame mounts fabbed and welded in.

Tagged off the drive side axle (going for version 2...I dont like the looks of this one.)

Nice looking chop, I like the stance. Whats up with your clip ons though? They look very interesting. Something you made yourself?

You might consider doing something else with the rear caliper arrangement. The thrust bar going forward looks odd with the rigid tail sort of.

You might be able to anchor it to the frame closer to the caliper.

Thanks All

Thanks All

Thanks for the input guys. The clip ons are from a Honda I believe, I inverted them and added 1.5" extentions. As for the brake, thats going to have to wait... I just want to get this thing ridable! This nice weather is killing me!

Ewwww...I like it...but then Im kinda twisted, bent, little warped and have a left handed twist that somehow does a hard right past uncle bobs barn.

Looks good dipstick.

(yeah, I still pop up all over the place.)

Thanks Chiefy!

I'll have a video soon to share. Your new Vette is the ****! (restraining from a vette joke).... What happened to the "other one"?
