A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

It'll be a bit before I have it off again but I can get pictures of the outside and using a pic of the OEM cover detail the mods you would need to do to an OEM cover to make it work. It would only take a little bit of welding or could probably even be done with some structural epoxy. the benefit is that if the epoxy fails the system will just short circuit the cooler go back to the filter as the original routing so no harm done if the epoxy fails.

this pic is from the flying banana site
It was made for a low pressure system, I have been told it would starve the high pressure engines for oil. There is an inlet on one side and an outlet on the other that you attatch your oil lines to. I think it could be used if you enlarged the hole.

OK here are the necessary mods to install an oil cooler on the GSX750.

Coolercover.jpg

The Red indicates where you will need to drill and tap for the fitting that flows out to the oil cooler.

The Green indicates where you will need to drill and tap for the fitting that returns the oil to the engine.

The Yellow indictes the area that needs to be filled in to force the oil to flow through the cooler.

the original set up flows oil out of the block at the area labled in red. the GSX750 cover does not have the wall in yellow. this can be seen in the cover on the right in gearhead13's picture. it then flows through the opening (not blocket by "Yellow" and to the outside of the oil filter, through the oil filter and into the primary oil galley.

with the modified setup the oil flows out of the block then is force to flow out the fitting in RED as the original path is blocked by the Yellow wall. it then flows through the oil cooler then to the fittingat the green location. It then flows through the opening on the side with the green fitting as it originaly had on the side that has now been blocked by blocked by yellow. After it flows through the opening it flows through the oil filter as originaly designed and to the main oil galley.

Here is a picture of the cover on my 16V GS750. Hopefully you can make out the oil lines among all the oily grime.

I have a cover for a 16 valve GS750 already modified like that. It appears the "wall" around the red dot was made with some aluminum welding material. It was originally on an '82 GS750T. I bought it along with a cooler and a Lockhart thermostatic valve off ebay to install on my own GS750E, but decided I didn't want to mess with it.

I can take a pic of it tomorrow if you'd like.

Did you compensate the oil in the cooler by adding more oil ?

Do send some more pictures...thanks
