Start at the beginning. How much maintenance has the bike really had done in the last thirty years?

Hi,

A fouled #2 plug? Have you checked the petcock? Have you properly cleaned the carbs? Adjusted the valves? Installed new plugs and plug caps? CLICK HERE and go through the maintenance lists. Which of these have you done? It all has to be done correctly.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

since i've got it about 4 or 5 mounths ago i'v rebuilt the carbs changed the oil and the plugs were change right befor i got it.

Hi,

Thank you for your indulgence,

Flooding? You have gas overflowing out of carbs/airbox? That what you are saying?

.

no, no gas is comeing out the air box. thats the best way i could put it, coils are fireing, spark plus are sparking but a strong gas smell and poping is comeing from the left tail pipe( right side is doing fine). i thought it wasn't firing but it is. the two plugs on the left are black and the two on the right are white. if its not the firing then ill repost in the carb area. i've checked for a intake leak and found none.

Your problems start right after rebuiding carbs?

I rebuilt my carbs (dipp and replace orings) and had lots of problems, not all cyclinders firing and had gas dripping. I think my problem was maybe I didnt get the floats back into the same carbs, because I had to readjust the float heights (bending that tab that pushed the needle valve closed), then all was good.

.

no its been running fine sence i did the carbs a few months ago. this started all at once

So had been okay since working on carbs a few months ago, then all of the sudden this problem starts.

Do you say "fluding" because of what you see on the sparkplugs ... or what?

.

yes it was running fine after the carb work. i say fluding because that two sparkplugs on the laft are black and the same side exhaust is putting out a real thick white gasy smoke (smells like straght gas) and i notice some dark gas is dripping from the exhaust, this is only on the side with the two black plugs.
