A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I just bought a GS 750. Man, Does it scream..... Why does it have a squared headlight? I have looked at several 81"s on the net and they all have round headlights. What is different between mine and the others? Thanks! Mike

Your looks cooler. \\:D/

It's also a slightly different model, but don't worry about that part.

Square Headlight

Square Headlight

Only 80 and 81 have the square headlight. I think it is just the E models not the L models. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Could be right on the "only '80 and '81" part.

You're definitely right on the "not the L models."

The '80 and '81 GS750E had square headlights. The '82 GS750E, while still having the same body work as the '80 and '81, had a round headlight and a different instrument cluster. All GS750L and GS750T models had round headlights.

If it bugs you that much you can change it to round very easily. The ears that hold your square light are the same ears that hold the round light. Just remove the light and shroud and replace with any number of 7 inch round headlights with a matching bucket. Even aftermarket stuff will work. The only wierd thing is how the guages will stick up, but it's not that bad really. Take a look at mine....

This is my 81 750E with a bucket from an 82 750T plus an aftermarket jeweled headlight.

THATDOOD on this website has the same bike.
I always thought that they did come with a square headlight until I saw his.
I always wanted the 1100 version with square headlight, but ended up buying at GS1000G instead.
