A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

looking at buying a set to put new tires on (they on eBay), will these be the same and fit my bike, my front rim has fair few marks and previous owner had put anti flat fluid in there making a mess and a slow leak in front. spare set with new tires would be worth while I'm thinking, thanks clancey, getting there slowly, few more small jobs to do.

Not Sure

hi,

I am no guru, and for sure one the real gurus will answer in due course, but I think your right to be cautious.

I looked up the part numbers for rears and there possibly slightly different in some unkown way;
gs1000g(81) 64100-45810-12U
gs1100g (83) 64100-49810-291

I assumed the wheels were all the same, when I brought a rear for my car tyre project. (outfit) turns out the wheel I got from another model had a 1/2 inch different width in the hub, fits the drive fine, but is off set.

If it does pan out for you, do you want to sell your old 1100 rear wheel?
(I dont care what the rims like I just want to cut the hub out)

Hey Clancey, totally off topic but I knew there was another Brissie member I missed! We had a big run Sunday week ago with all the GSR members around South East Qld and went from Archerfield to Landsborough the long way, so sorry I missed you out on the invite.

Keep an eye out in the GS Meeting Place forum for next time if you're keen as it was a good success and I reckon we'll be doing another one in a few months...

Here's the thread from the other day:

I'm pretty sure the wheel will interchange. Some of the early wheels were tube type, some tubeless so look close. The later front was a little wider too.

thank you all, i took a punt for $60 and purchased them both, pick up in bris once he gets back to me. if not ill have some to throw around :) also 2 other rear wheel on eBay ATM one is a wire wheel. Pete, thanks for thoughts still been getting it sorted had a few curve balls that had me tracking off on tangents for a bit,the ride looks awesome and bikes very nice :). ill get some miles on her when i get it sorted and ease into it. regards clancey.

Good stuff Clancey! Definitely have to remember to get you an invite to the next one as well.

Good luck with the wheels!

They'll swap... With some work. Your gonna want the rear sPacers and rotor from the 1100G. They're not the same. The later shaft rotors were some sort of semi-floater type that had no webbing and mounted directly to the hub...

Also not sure but the 81 has a 17" rear and I believe the 84 has a 16" better check for sure though

small late update, thanks again every one. I got them they need a clean up and look narrower on front possibly, then i can read numbers on rims. The gent that had them is a member here :), small world :), he was brilliant very helpful. Also john82q the back wheel i picked up you may have to play with if you want, im in sunnybank hills, cheers clancey

Clancey,

I got your PM but the system tells me your settings wont accept PMs ?

Short of it is I will give you a ring tomorrow, about having a look see at the wheel on the weekend.

Cheers John
