If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Righto, I had a crack at that photo for you, Pete.
Darker paint, stripes (sorry I made your tank look square) recessed tail light, lowered front guard and blacked out both guards.

Thanks mate, nice work! I'm definitely challenged in that regard... others as well but especially that one... haha

Maroon and white stripes is definite, but now... maroon or black front guard? Tim Tom had me sold on his maroon, now I'm confused again

As to that second pic... I'm sure my head just spun 720 degrees...

Oh, and the situation at the moment isn't too drastic, and the only thing that will really suffer is budget for the bike...

You should have seen how it looked in Hot Plum and Laverda Orange.
The green is mild by comparison. ha.

Hot plumb?! Urgh

I also had the paint and finish by Christmas conversation this evening and the reception was actually quite favourable, so it appears for now at least that everything is to continue as normal...

That will entail taking a day off next week or the week after to do the paint shop run around and get some foam for the seat.

It also means the R/R should be go too, although the exchange rate sucks on Paypal at the moment.

I may have another flash of creativity tonight and do your bike how I'd like it.

This may have nothing to do with what you have in mind..

Go maroon for the front. It's nice. You know you want too .

Although the spearmint is pretty cool too.

I still like the black front guard.
I'll rip one up with a maroon front guard tonight as a comparison though.

Finally, if it were mine..
I'd cut the tail light down in depth, shorten the front guard more, trim down the gauge pod and fit bar ends.

Awwww man you lot love messin' with my head don't ya's!?

So, definitely doing the maroon front guard, that's settled, no more discussion on that...

Definitely doing maroon with white stripes, and I hope I can find one like what you've used there Leigh, a bit darker than what's on there now and that's more like your initial one too Tim Tom.

I'm also still planning on making up some rubber knee pads, just need to get the rubber and some U/V gouges to do it.

As to the 'bar ends, tail light, and shorter front guard... hmmm... well the front guard is currently shorter than it was in the pic I shot through to you Leigh, I've trimmed that back a few inches.

My inspiration is the scramblers from the 60/70's and the new Triumph Scrambler, which means I think it all needs to be "out there"... stalk mirrors, tail light out in your face, that sorta thing...

Plus, if I change the tail light, no way is it gonna get a coat of paint mid-October...

So I'm gonna do it how it is for now so I can get it on the road (that's really the whole idea right? ;)) and if I decide it's not quite right I can change things up maybe next winter if I can get off it long enough.

I really want to concentrate on getting it done now, so I do still need to lower the front guard, haven't got a choice on that one, but I think length wise it will do for now.

I do really appreciate all the input and pic efforts too because quite often I'll see something in my head and it won't translate into reality, but I'm pretty crap with the GIMP (as you've all seen) so it's hard for me to show what I'm thinking before ruining something for real...

So this is the guard right now, but it has to go down 25mm's yet from this pic:

I know you have to lower the mudgaurd for functionality... but I think you will like the looks as well.
(that's really the whole idea right? ;))
DAMN STRAIGHT!

Pete, I love the way you are heading with this thing..
It's a unique take on an old theme.

I was just messing about with an idea that was more cafe than scrambler.

I've said it before, but damn! That exhaust is so bodacious! Love it!

Cheers again Dave! I still find myself standing and staring on odd occasions... hahaha

Yeah I expect it will still look the part and I really need to get onto that actually. If I could shake whatever's hanging around me at the moment I could do something. Not really sick I don't think but not right either, can't seem to focus and I don't want to touch the bike in that state... mind you tonight's lack of focus is totally self inflicted...

Cheers Leigh, but I still think you're just messin' with my head :p

Actually if it was about 7 years ago it would be being cafe'd... that was pre-dodgy wrist days.
