    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

the bike revs very high when I pull in the clutch to shift gears. I have put on new intake flanges and there is no air coming in from there so wht is it revving so high when its shifting gears??? I have cleaned out the carbs but ihave not replaced the gaskets because they seem to be okay. SO at this point I have no clue what is up with this bike

Did you replace the o-rings on the boots.What is your idle set at?Is your airbox sealed good and air filter clean and oiled? Have you adjusted your throttle cable for 1/32 to 1/16th" of play? Is your vacumn line on good and no cracks or splits?If all this is good you must still have an air leak somewhere.
 
I replaced it with brand new O-rings and the is new vacuum hoses as well the only thing on the airbox is the bottom clip is missing but it never had an issue because of the missing clip in the past. My throttle cable is another story though should it be adjusted up by the throttle cable adjuster by the handgrips or the one connected to the carb?
 
To adjust the throttle cable, start with the adjuster at the hand grip as short as possible. Twist the grip a couple of times to see what slack there is. Adjust at the carbs until you have no more than 1/8" of play at the grip. Tighten down the adjuster at the carbs. Fine tune the play to about 1/16" of play using the adjuster near the grip. With the engine idling, turn the bars from full left lock to full right lock. The engine should not change speed. When everything is happy, lock down the adjuster.

This gets the cable length adjusted with the lower adjuster and allows you to compensate for cable stretch by using the upper one, which is easier to reach.

What kind of carbs do you have? bs 32 ss ? If so there is only one vacumn line.
