A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I need some new tires since mine are dryrotted. Rather than simply use the size that is on the bike currently, I want to double check the factory (or recommended) sizes first. The owners manual says 3.25H19 4PR for the front, and 4.25H17 4PR for the rear. I'm not sure what that equates to using today's tire measuring system.

In addition to OEM tire size info, I'm also looking for recommendations on specific tires (suggest a brand and model) if you have any. I'm looking for something relatively inexpensive. Thanks!

Another tire thread:-\\\

100/90-19 front
120 or 130/90-17 rear

Value leader: Shinko 230
General performance: Avon Roadrider (best choice overall)

I have the 30 on mine. Too phat, going with the 120 next time.

100/90 and 120/90 are the ones you need.... like's been said a 130 is too wide and is just too rounded once fitted. i use avon road riders on mine 650 katana and they do what's needed rather well imo

Having found this thread through the search feature I've been looking for tires to fit my GS650G, and most likely going for the Shinko 230 due to the recomendations of others and price factor.

Though the front tire 100/90-19 can be relatively easy to find I'm having difficulties finding the rear tire 120/90-17 in Canada. The 130 size I can find but seems most of what I have read thus far indicates I would be better off with the 120.

Does anyone have a source for the 120's in Canada they can share with me? Alternately, I will be going to Maine next sring and can pick up a pair of tires there (calling ahead and have a dealer order them in for me if not in stock)

(Shipping tires from the USA to Canada is way way too expensive)

Cheers
