1982 GS750T Completed

You?re probably never really done... but anyways here she is. I got her off of ebay last June. I was not looking for a project bike. All I wanted was a bike I could ride back and forth work, that would get good gas mileage, and my son would be able to ride down the road.

On first inspection she had a little rust here and there. She appeared to run fairly good. And so as I started to fix a few of the little things I found more and more things wrong and soon all I had was an engine bolted to the frame. Because we have been so busy at work I was unable to work on her as much as I would have liked. Slowly she went back together. My funds to the project where limited so I had to improvise on some things.

I would like to thank you, the forum members, for all the help along the way. You made my research much easier and you pointed me to some of the best vendors.

Now... She runs great! Handles the curves well. And gets pretty good gas mileage.

I have gotten a lot of looks and positive comments.

You've certainly got a sweet ride there! I really like how the engine shines- you've obviously applied some elbow grease there. What kind of header/exhaust is that? It looks very good.

And THAT, my friends, is what you can do with an Ebay bike on a limited budget! Considering the time I've invested in my 750 and I'm nowhere near done, I have some idea the work that went into that bike. Fantastic job!

I cleaned up the engine as good as I could and then used a high temp paint. That is the stock exhaust... it had some minor rust so I sand blasted it... sanded it and used an exhaust header paint.

she is a keeper... when my son moves to something different I'm thinking I'll take her back down and do a complete restore.
