A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Good Afternoon:
I want to start off by saying I searched the forum for this answer and didn't find anything

I found some questions on another post that I will answer in hopes to help the QA process

1. Does it make noise on start-up or continualy?

Start up until it gets warm. Then it goes away once bike is at operating temps

2. What does the noise sound like, tapping, grinding, clunking?

Grinding. My friends call it the peanut grinder.

3. Does it make the noise sitting still in neutral?

Yes...but goes away if I engage the clutch

4. Does it make the noise sitting still, in gear, with the clutch pulled?

No

5. Does the frequency of the noise increase when you rev the engine?

Yes...but it actually goes away at higher RPM. Seems only to occur at lower revs

Thank you so much for your help.

Grinding noise

I would pull the clutch cover and have a good look at your clutch basket and related assembly, I have heard this before and it turned out that my basket was ready to explode, Many hair line cracks and a bad bearing as well! The clutch basket rattle can sound like a grinding noisei f it is severely worn.
My 2 cents.

Where does the noise sound like it is coming from?
It sounds like it is coming from the gear box. I will take a look at the clutch basket.

Anybody have a part number and part source for the clutch basket and bearing?

I agree with looking at the clutch basket and bearing. It's pretty easy to do.

The basket is going to be a bit pricey if you want it new. I'd look on ebay for a good used one - if that is the problem.
