I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hey guys,

So my Suzuki has a 1983 airbox and carbs on it (they were replacements). The actual bike itself is a 1982.

I just want to know if this is considered ok. I know the airbox is a bit of a pain (its real tight), but other than that, any issues this could cause? I'm in the process right now of fixing some air leaks, and while the carbs are out I figured I'd ask this.

Thanks!

Hopefully soon I'll get this bike running in good condition! I'm just going down the checklist of stuff to do, and this caught my eye.

I just compared pictures of the two boxes and noted several differences. Mounts are different, along with several other details.

I would think that it might be worth sourcing one, but be aware. I think it was the 450 that I heard you had to pull the engine to replace the airbox.

Yea, I do know about the mounting, and that is what tipped me off to not being the "stock" airbox. Turns out it is a stock airbox, just from 1983. However, once the battery is in, it is so tight I can't see the thing moving at all lol.

Also, you don't need to take the engine out. I already took this airbox out and put it back in! It's just a pain in the ass.

My question was more of, performance wise anything to worry about (I'd assume no since the carbs are also 1983, but I just wanted to make sure), or if there were any "gotchas" I should look out for.

I did take a quick look on Ebay for 1982 airboxes, but they look terrible....

Hey Steve, is there any performance issues that would arise from using the 83 carbs and airbox? I'd assume no since they are both the same year, but I just want to make sure.
