I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone has had to fix leaks in their fuel tanks? My tank has one spot that I tried to seal with bondo but after taking it out for a few rides, I seem to have an issue brewing!😅

How does interior of this tank look?

and did you get it with pods already installed?

The interior looks good, I did a rust clean just before spring. It's basically a pinhole on the seam of the tank.
No I put the pods on and jetted the carbs.

Bondo cannot hold gas back.

JB Weld (and No substitutes, IMO, until I find anything as good ...) is your friend on a paint-free, gasoline-free surface....tank must be dry and clean and the tank must be pretty-much emptied UPSIDE DOWN in your case...build the jbweld out a bit so you can fair it but there's going to be a lump where patched unless you use a lot of jb to make it fair less noticeably. Do notput the jbweld on and then sand it all off fairing it! There must be "material" covering the hole and the surrounding surface.

You can prime and paint it after but it isn't the best fairing compound. Unfortunately, bondo (and similar GRP resins) do not stick to it. But it can be unnoticeable if you are patient.

^^^yes, true enough, nessism...Mustashio, you will likely find more pinholes and then you will need a sealant...JB weld is for more immediate "remediation", and you are hoping for a few pinholes or holes that a previous sealant missed.

What brand pods..and what size main jets did you wind up with .

Thanks for the info Gorminrider and Nessism! I'm gonna check that out. I'm curious, have you used it before? Was reading through some of the instructions and is explains how to apply it to plane fuel tanks, just wondering if it's the sort of product you can pour into the tank and roll it around to cover the interior and that would be good?

tom203 it was a kit from 6Sigma, here's a picture of the set they sent me. The pods are just a cheap brand I got off amazon. I found a different style from K&N that I'm going to swap them out for.

On another note...has any had any experience with putting a different tank on an 83 gs650gl? Wondering what kind of tank I might be able to swap it to with little modifications.
