1983 GS650GL Carb/petcock hookup

Last year, much to the Wife's chagrin, I bought two GS650 basket cases (an '83 GL, and an '82)and 3 boxes of parts for 300 bucks. This year the rebuild/adventure began and suprisingly, I'm almost done with the '83 but have stalled with the tank/carbs/petcock install. I have a 'different carb' for the '83 that I'm not finding anywhere on-line. The '82 has the Mikuni CV with all the expected vents/vacuum/fuel inlet fittings. However, the unlabelled oddball off the '83 has only one inlet... (for fuel, I'm assuming) and no vents or vacuum. The motor has what appears to be the vacuum line for the petcock, located top rear. Unless I'm missing something, which is highly likely given my limited experience, it looks like all that's needed is a hose from the big fitting on the tank petcock to the carb and another hose from the engine fitting to the smaller tank petcock fitting. Any thoughts, suggestions, admonishments, amens?

Just an update... Looks like the carb in question is off of a Kawasaki. The other two carbs I have are the stock Suzuki Mikunis with the round floats and standard hookups. I'm going to rebuild one of them and give it a go. Thanks tom203 for the potential help.

So was that oddball Kawasaki carb a Keihin CV type- has smaller round top than Mikuni ? Anyways, your spare Mikunis should work after a good cleaning and inspection. Remember, avoid rebuild carb kits- the metal parts in carbs don't usually wear out and some aftermarket rebuild kits are poor quality. You need carb o-rings from cycleorings.com (member here) after a thorough cleaning. Have a look at this tutorial
