the helmets gone but i'm pretty sure he still has the jacket and gloves, will have to get a new pic with me wearing all that stuff now in the same spot.

Hahaha yeah that'd be a sight to see...

Been riding the bike to work and back, its okay on that ride but i took it on a longer ride today with a top speed of 80kph and its got issues still, big miss in it in top gears, if i stay in 4th gear i can accelerate through it. Soooooooo time to order new stuff....

Bike will be fixed and put up for sale for something with afew more CC's, riding with a friend today he was on a cbr 1000 rr and he wasnt even going fast and i just couldnt keep up with him, he had to stop so i could catch up and we were both behaving too!

I need a bike i can take on the freeway (110kph) without reving its ringhole out!

I'll be down there tomorrow fixing there lawn mower.... may as well fix the katana while i'm at it right?

Definitely! Then say well unc... see how I got her purring so well? That's my sweat there... she should be mine ;)

Okay, The Katana is back together! Waiting on a battery and some fresh fuel then we will kick it in the guts!

Took the bike for a run today to sydney, still playing up but i'm waiting on some inlet rubbers. The bike looks pretty good i reckon, considering i havent finished it yet!

Awesome! You gonna take her for a spin if she fires?

And yeah, you should be proud of the 250, she does look good :D

am i gonna take her for a spin if she fires... what kinda stupid question is that? HAHA! :P

OFCOURSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

Where they live is isolated from traffic so afew laps of the street is def on the cards!

Now back to the 250.

Looking at the above pic i'm not sure if i should put bar end mirrors on it or not, the bars def have to go as they are just something i welded up from some bent bars i had.

Drag bars seem pretty popular these days but seeing as i have a bad back i find i'm getting sore wrists / pins and needles and my hands going numb the lower the bars go so i might have to go back to the standard items instead.

Think i might have to play around with a baffle in the exhaust, its far to noisy for me and although it does sound great at full noise with some revs up her a majority of riding is around town.

A bloke at work has a GS850G he wants to sell but it looks big, slow and heavy.

Yeah that was a stupid question... hahaha :D

Try some motorcross 'bars, I'm lovin' mine! A bit wider than the stockers and they feel very comfortable to me. I think they may be a touch lower but nothing like drag bars.

As for bar end mirrors... dunno... Landshark has them on his 750 (pretty sure he has a 750!) and they look the part, but I think it really depends on the style of bike and the 'bars... they wouldn't suit my 450!

The 850 is big and heavy but I don't believe they're that slow... BassCliff loves his and so do all the other 850 owners on here... but it's definitely not going to be nimble like your 250 or my 450 either... and it ain't no Katana ;)

I like my bar ends, personal choice though.
Mine is a 1000g, and its anything but slow. It is big compared to a 250 but.

The main let down of my bike is the tyre size and the lack of power, Tyre size would make it so much more rideable, its very twitchy cornering.

Oooops... had it in my head you had a 750... not sure why...

Maybe a different profile tyre? Are they more triangulated that round maybe? Like the new signature by the way :)

hmm maybe, i know they arnt new tyres so maybe they are just getting old. I will have to check the other set of tyres on the spare wheels i have to see if they are any better.

Yeah thought the bike deserved a nice signature!

There is another member in sydney with two 650 Katanas in parts, but complete. It would be a good cheap project for you if you are looking for a bit more power.
I have his email if you are interested.

twitchy corners...

twitchy corners...

Im no expert, but If the bike is twitchy in corners maybe the needlebearing in the swingarm is bad, or maybe the stearing rooller bearings?
I have got a honda 125 cbr and the tires are very small, but it behaves reliable anyway?

Its very wobbly through corners, the forks have been re done so i'm rulling them out at the moment, my bearings in the steering tree have no free travel at all and now that you mention it Niklas the rear of the bike has felt quite odd lately, at one stage i had to check that the back wheel wasnt wobbling, will check the swingarm before my next ride.

Then again it could just be me, if the bike isnt running right my confidence on it drops so maybe i'm wobbling through corners.... lol

landshark, PM sent :)

Let me know how that turns out. If the needlebearing in the swingarm is bad, that would explain it then. I had a similar problem on my GS.

Forgot to mention, last time i took the bike out i got stuck in a storm, worst rain i have ever ridden in and i learnt that when a jackests selling point is its 'WATERPROOF' it doesnt actually mean its WATERPROOF! Not happy with that at all.

But i just made it into our driveway and the bike died, it ran outta fuel lol, bloody dodgy fuel gauge!, i normally get 300km to a tank but only got 261 this time round, might be because of the carby problems i think!
