All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I knew it! That's actually awesome news, valve cover ain't nothing compared to what it could've done, so very glad to hear it's not a disaster :D

The nut is going up above the bench in the garage with a sign, ' REMEMBER THIS?........ DONT LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN!! '

Once i find a new cylinder head cover i'm going to high pressure wash the engine and wire brush / sand it, wash it again and then wipe it over with wax and grease remover and then paint it with some high temp gloss black. Unless there is a better way?

The only "better" way is to do it disassembled... but that means a full rebuild which is a lot of work and extra $$$...

Just make sure your prep is beyond perfect. The only paint issues I've had so far are with temperature paints, and it always seems to come back to a little spot that just wasn't prep'd right...

i see so many dodgy engine resprays who dont bother taping cables etc up and get so much overspray on everything and they think it looks good

Ugh, horrid... I'm glad I did mine while it was apart, but I still wish I knew how good the head and cylinders would look from the wet blasting. If I knew it would be that good I would've sent him the lot to get done regardless of the cost...

Any good to you? Looks like he should have a valve cover if it's the right model 250...

If a guy called Chris still owns and runs the site (looks like he does), then I rode with him a few times years ago when he had a T500 Titan and a T250. Good bloke but haven't caught up with him in about 10 years or so...

Edit: Nice pipes too!

Ok cool, just browsing around and fluked across it so thought I'd let you know...

Found one near Newcastle for $28 inc bolts and freight, so he is the winner so far.

Yeah thats where i got the price from, so many differing prices on there, one bloke wanted $75 plus postage

Cheers Mike, just saved him as a seller, looks like he has some good stuff!

There are pics of the warehouse here. I've been there and these pictures only show a fraction of what's available. You could sift through there for weeks if you didn't know where to look.

He cant help me unfortunately mike. Still waiting to hear from the guy in newcastle.
