DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Wow. What a great feeling that must be. Probably only second to actually riding. The bike looks great GT. I can't wait to see the tins on her.

Thanks there GT, but you have a slip there, or was you patting yourself.and I know our bike is getting along just as good.....LOL :)

GT or GK, ahhhhh it's al the same.....hehehehehe :dancing:

All this anticipation, they bloody well better be good....:D

I stand corrected! A little tired tonight and that showed up in my typing. I'm not firing on all cylinders!

I guess there is a little bit of GT in your bike though!

Yes there is.....and it's holding together some of the most important parts and lucky for me you were able to find them, otherwise it would have been the old crappy looking original bolts....yuk....

Alright 1225 posts in, its time to see this bad boy dressed up!

There are surely good similarities shared between both your build GK and GT's.

Joe, perfect timing for that hilarious post.
Come on GK, we're all getting antsy here. :p

Besides yourself, A few of us are patiently waiting to see the results also...

Well nothing yet on the tins, so I decided to do some painting of my own...

used the PlastiDip paint on the fuse panel cover, went from the original white to the black....

tins sanded and primed

tins sanded and primed

Well.......

I finally got some pictures from the painter guy, I am happy.....

Seem to be taken by a phone camera, not the best quality, but it's more than I have had since I gave them to him to do....

I think my tins are going to turn out really well, seems he is doing all the right stuff, and so far I like what I see, even though the pics are not the best, I can see a great job in the end...

so the pics were small, I then enlarged them a bit, and now I have uploaded them, so not the best, but hey it's all I have...

comments or concerns are welcome...

off with the old....

If you're doling out beer remember us poor unfortunates in the Hammer.:)

Finally, some progress. Any hint at an ETA? If he shot those today, I'd be thinking Friday or Saturday worst case, wouldn't you say? Damn, maybe you should start a new trend and go "primer" :)

Not long now old son.

spyug

had a brief email conversation with him, maybe Friday, maybe Saturday, but he would not commit to anything, so I just have to sit and wait now....

but at least I can see there is work being done......that is a plus

beer for all those that meet me at the painters, no problem.....LOL

now if I went and bobbed the bike, and did a flat black on everything, the primer look might be a good way to go.......heheheheheh

NO Thanks......

yes the end is near.........

just wanted to give a heads up on the headers (sorry didn't realize the pun).

that wrap smells terrible once it gets warmed up.

you probably already know this but it smokes a little and smells something fierce. all those things people describe the smell as? combine all of them and double it.

hope your tins turn out well!

Thanks for the heads up on the header wrap smell, I will assume it will go away over time, or at least after a few heat and cool cycles...

the tins better turn out good, or I am gong to be really bummed out....
