If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

2 days and still plugged

Holy cow, I did the same exact thing, except while trying to blindly stagger to the bathroom in my fathers garage, I whacked my shin on a lawnmower, fell and dislocated my shoulder.

Man! Talk about rubbing salt in a wound...

My experience with carbs is that they are designed in such manner so that no matter where you spray cleaner in them, there is a passage way that always sprays it back towards your face.

Picked up some of the Eagle One spray and did a test run on an old cruddy bowl. This is the result after a timed 30 minute soak. Im thinking this just may be the solution....fingers crossed.

Just curious why you didn't try the Berryman's professional? Has never let me down.

These two bowls look almost identical to me. What am I missing?

Was that just a small spot cleaning or was the bowl filled and let sit for 3 hours? If filled, then that's not very clean.

30 minute soak in just that area or the whole bowl? If it was the whole bowl then it didn't do much.

The top picture is the stuff foaming up and the bottom picture is the area wiped clean. I just did the little recess that traps the float hinge pin so as not to inadvertently ruin the entire bowl. The pin area was the same crud as the rest of the bowl so Im saying the stuff did a pretty amazing job. Now I know 30 minutes is a baseline time that cleaned but didnt eat anything.

The question is, can you get that foam to the right place in the carb body and how does it react to brass?

Again, curious as to why you haven't tried the old "pro" formula of the Berryman(p/n: 901)?

Its a liquid and it foams as it sits. A gentle drizzle down the holes should allow it to flow thru and get to any obstructions and unloosened scale inside. I will be doing the carb this weekend. when i have time to keep very close watch on the situation.

If you spray the stuff like you normally would when spraying down a rim then its more like half liquid and half foam tht comes out. Ever so gently squeezing the trigger just makes drops come out that rent foamy at all.

Berrymans...isnt the stuff in the gallon can with basket the same crap?????? It hasnt failed on any other carbs, but this one is just plain clogged with something more than the Berrymans handled. The other 3 carbs are perfect and they went in the same sauce...so I fail to see why everyone questioning the Berrymans here.

Based on the condition of the bowl I tried the Mag Wheel juice on, I think its gonna do the trick. I can also use the propane torch to heat the area of the carb that the feeder passge is at prior to the juice. That may help crack the blockage too and then allow the juice to finish it off i guess.

NO!!!!! There's a formula that's been reduced to a "environmental friendly version" and then there's the professional grade. The one I've been posting about is not the same as the one commonly found as over the counter. Part number 901 is the original formula and is MUCH more effective then what you find normally. I don't understand why this is so hard to understand. So many think that the original Berryman formula is not longer available but it it is and is MUCH better then what you've been using. You just need to order the correct formula. It is not available in all states but in the ones that it is, it's truly the best solution. Have you even looked at
the link I posted? http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/BRY3/0901.oap?ck=Search_901_-1_-1&keyword=901

If you buy it and it doesn't work as stated then I'll pay for it for you. That's how much I believe in it.

Ya, you're not alone. I've been trying for several years to get people to understand that there are two versions of the Chem-Dip but keep getting push back. There was originally only one formula but due to the Feds the original formula was taken off most retail shelves and replace with the crappy, useless, version that smells like diesel fuel. The original version smells like mothballs. Many have thought that the original formula can no longer be purchased but they are wrong. At least in most states. Do a search on Berryman's P/N's 901 and 905 and you'll see the original formula. The 905 is the 5 gal container. The 901 is the "replenishment" for the 905. Both are available through O'reilly's Auto Parts but I'm sure there are other avenues for purchase as well. None of the "professional" versions come in the 1 gallon round can with basket but I just reused the one I had and dump/fill it when it's spent with the 901.

Hope this clears things up.

There is also the "California" formula. Although it's not mandatory in California so I'm not sure why they make it. The run of the mill formula is pretty strong regardless. It will eat the zinc plating right off the steel parts which sucks when doing motorcycle carbs with the throttle shafts still installed. I just ordered an ultrasonic cleaner off ebay to avoid this. The strongest carb dip I've ever used was branded "Mckays". That stuff stunk to high heaven but it sure could clean carbs...and driveways. I used to use it to remove black grease stains off concrete and it was the only stuff I found that would do that and get the concrete properly clean.
